Make sure to check out our ongoing thread for updates about the Regional Convention being held in Orlando on April 25. The convention will be at the spectacular Gaylord Palms hotel and we've gotten a group rate of just $99/night on guest rooms. Updated information will be posted Monday on how to make your reservations.
RG, Convention Chair
Anyone interested in protesting the GE annual shareholder meeting on April 22 in Orlando!!!
We need to stop them!
Leni/MinuteGal
I am also looking forward to meeting you and I certainly ditto what MinuteGal said! I honor those who reach out to our wonderful military with their time and support!
I didn’t get the info from the hotel today regarding making reservations, but I expect it tomorrow or Wednesday. As soon as I get it I’m going to Freep mail everyone that has told me they’re interested in a room with the info.
I’m also going to post all the other info that everyone will need regarding the hotel; address, directions, etc. I’ll ping the entire Florida list when I’ve posted the info.
Do we have a couple of people that would be willing to be our official Orlando Historians and be in charge of keeping notes on what we discuss and any resolutions we come to?
Great question! I can tell you the list is pretty thin at the moment.
Charlie Bronson's planning to run for Guv...
As a reminder, this is the venue where our Regional Convention will be held:
The room rate for our Conventioneers is $99/night (this rate includes the resort fee), plus 14% tax for single or double occupancy. There will be an additional $12/day, plus tax, self parking fee or $20/day, plus tax, valet parking fee. The hotel accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. Check-in is at 3pm and check-out is at 11am. The Gaylord Palms is a smoke-free hotel, so all guest rooms are non-smoking. Before you have a panic attack, I will be scheduling in breaks during the day so whoever needs to can get their nicotine, snack, exercise fix without missing any of the fun.
Here is a link to a map to help you get to the Gaylord Palms. Click on the blue locator balloon to input your starting address and get driving directions. If you have a GPS, the address is: 6000 W. Osceola Parkway Kissimmee, FL 34746 407-586-0000
If theres any information that you need that isnt above or in the mail I sent you (if youre staying overnight) let me know!
I also should mention that the hotel is extending that rate to us for the 3 days prior to and 3 days after the Convention.
Reservations must be made by April 17! If you didn’t get a Freep mail from me and want to make reservations let me know immediately.
Looks like a great hotel and a great rate!
I haven’t been to this hotel, but hear fantastic things about it. The pictures certainly are incredible.
And yes, the rate they’re extending us is phenomenal; normal rates for the night of the convention is $229.
You should scoot on over and join us!
Remember this convention is for Floridians, Georginians, Alabamibians, and Carolininians.
It's so fast and easy to drive to Orlando. Like ancient Rome, all roads lead there. The hotel is right off I-4. Even I will be able to find it immediately, and that's something!
Make a mini-vacation out of this trip. You can't beat the rate. You don't even have to leave the hotel for entertainment.
There's a great agenda in the works. You'll meet all the faces behind the intriguing freeper screen names!
If you're single, there's loads of single freepers coming. You'll feel at home immediately with all these folks It's like coming to a family reunion. Ask any freeper who's been on a freeper fund-raising cruise.
What a weekend you can have....you won't want to go home, I assure you!
