He passed peacefully around 11 am with his step son and step daughter by his side. I got the call from his step-son, but have just been able to calm myself to let all of you know. Please share your thoughts, prayers, or a favorite story of Ray.
May Ray rest in God’s peace.
Prayers for and condolences to Ray’s family and friends.
Gods Speed CommonTator.........my condolences Lisa, He is already missed.
Prayers Up. He’s not got another worry for an Eternity now. :)
Prayers for COMMON TATOR ...
condolences to Tators family and friends
Lisa,
For several years, I was without access to Free Republic, and so, Im sorry to say, did not get to know Ray until the recent posts about his condition. For that, I am much poorer than you and his many friends here. He truly was a shining star, whose brightness pierced even the heaviest of clouds.
I can only wish Ray Gods peace.
And for you and all who did know and love him, I wish Gods solace. As you grieve his loss, remember that your life was made brighter by that starlight, and that through you, he will always be with us.
Lisa, the loss of Ray hurts us all, and I can only hope that that shared companionship of feelings can blunt the pain somewhat for you and others who were closest to him. He will be missed deeply, and I wish well to his friends and family.
Prayers up!
He was one of the good guys ... RIP Ray!
A small note of friendship and participation from old Sweden, Europe.
He was a true example of American Exceptionalism. He will be missed, as I loved this well-reasoned postings!
Rest in peace, friend. Prayers offered for family and friends.

So sorry to hear this Lisa. Tator certainly put up a valiant fight trying to beat this with a lot of loving help from you & his family.
May God give you, his family & dearest friends the strength to get through the pain you must feel in these first sad days, and may He give you the courage to open up your hearts again soon so that you can know the serene joy of beholding all the wonderful memories he’s left behind for you to cherish.
You were each blessed to have known this man who chose to live such an extraordinarily full life and to have been the ones whose own lives he chose to enrich with his fondest affections, so please allow me the honor of extending my deepest sympathy to you all.
Prayers said for Ray and all his loved ones.
