HR 1388, will hit the House floor on Tuesday. It is called the Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act (The Give Act.) The House is scheduled to Rule this week. Sponsored by Democrat Representative Carolyn McCarthy (NY), Education and Labor Committee. The objective is to reauthorize and reform the national service laws.
Democrat Rep. McCarthy is sponsoring the bill with 25 co-sponsors, ALL Democrats, including Charlie Rangel. Need I say more.
Huh? It shouldn’t matter who is charge. If the republicans used it then the Rats would eventually get their hands on it.
I serve in the military...I don’t want peole fighting with me who don’t want to be there. I’d rather have 5 true volunteers than 100 non-volunteers.
Per request
Perhaps you are right, however this line in the bill sounds a little more like active volunteering. I’m sure it will all be in good will, but the agenda is part of this program:
“...by creating, expanding, and promoting service options for elementary and secondary school students...”
From the website of the Workers World Party:
"Dear Comrade Kim Jong Il...
With his leadership [Kim Il Sung], the Korean people defeated the Japanese colonial occupation and soon after brought about the first defeat of the U.S. imperialist military machine. ...
Workers World Party values our close, comradely relations with the Workers Party of Korea very highly. We are proud to have known Kim Il Sung as a great leader and a comrade in the international communist movement. ..."
With comradely solidarity, Sam Marcy Chairperson, Workers World Party" (1994):

Photo of Charlie Rangel at the podium of a March 19th, 2005 Workers World Party/Troops Out Now rally in Harlem, New York. The occasion marked the 2nd anniversary of the start of the Iraq war. The photo comes from the ("We are proud to have known Kim Il Sung as a great leader and a comrade in the international communist movement. ...") Workers World Party website.
Also appearing at this "peace" rally with the demonRat Charlie Rangel, now chairman of The House Ways and Means Committee, were Saddam Hussein lawyer, Ramsey Clark and convicted terrorist enabler/attorney, Lynne Stewart. Clark, with Workers World Party, started up that other 'peace' group, A.N.S.W.E.R. Clark also heads the International Action Center and was actually once Attorney General of the United States under democrat LBJ.

Behind the Placards
The odd and troubling origins of todays anti-war movement
David Corn, November 07, 2002
"Officially, the organizer of the Washington demonstration was International ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War & End Racism). But ANSWER is run by WWP activists, to such an extent that it seems fair to dub it a WWP front. Several key ANSWER officials -- including spokesperson Brian Becker -- are WWP members. Many local offices for ANSWERs protest were housed in WWP offices. Earlier this year, when ANSWER conducted a press briefing, at least five of the 13 speakers were WWP activists. They were each identified, though, in other ways, including as members of the International Action Center.
The IAC, another WWP offshoot, was a key partner with ANSWER in promoting the protest. It was founded by Ramsey Clark, attorney general for President Lyndon Johnson in the 1960s."
I wonder, how much are the American people going to take before enough is enough????
I agree, I think if we are relying on the “courts” to save us from this nonsense, we are dreaming!
Slum Livers...lol.
What a perfect name for Hussein's brown shirts!
The Old Regime in France required the peasants do corvee labor. We know how well that worked out. It is becoming clear that the Obama administration is engaged in a "Revolution from Above".
BUMP!
I'm afraid this is an absolute recipe for civil disobedience. There's absolutely no way in the world people are going accept this kind of forced servitude nonsense.
I think we're going to see a lot of bloddy conflicts and folks ending up in the hoosegow as a result of this.
And this Civilian National Security Force conecpt is I'm afraid going to lead to a lot more Waco style episodes. This was something that Ann Coulter pointed out in a WABC Radio interview that Bob Grant conducted.
Folks, elections do have consequences. I think we're in the process of rueing th day we gave this clown from Chicago the keys to the White House.
Regards......
Yes, it is very very real. It is on the agenda for Tuesday.
Believe me, I would not be surprised one bit if our kindergartners weren’t required to go pour soup for perfectly able bodied adults in a soup kitchen.
Either way, my children won’t parcicipate.

“Editorial Reviews
Product Description
This is the little blue book that right-wing partisans love to hate. Printed in a size that easily fits into pocket or purse, POCKET OBAMA is an anthology of quotations borrowed from Barack Obama’s speeches and writings, intended to keep the momentum going for those inspired by his message of hope and change. The portable book serves as a reminder of the remarkable ability of this man to move people with his words, a primer for readers who want to examine the substance of his thought and reflect on the next great chapter in the American story. His captivating oratory has earned comparisons to John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, and this collection presents words that catapulted his remarkable rise to the American Presidency and set a true course for the future. Includes themes of democracy, politics, war, terrorism, race, community, jurisprudence, faith, personal responsibility, national identity, and above all, his hoped-for vision of a new America. POCKET OBAMA is essential reading as we pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and begin the work of remaking America.”
These are the times that will try our patience with our bloated government. How much the average Joe is willing to put up with, we shall see.
What a perfect name for Hussein's brown shirts!
HEY.....You may be on to something!
Being a brown shirt would be as distasteful as having liver for dinner.
Just like our "voluntary" tax system?
Is that like brain cancer?
First Amendment:
Congress shall make no law ... abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press;
Didn’t seem to slow “Campaign Finance Reform” down a whole lot.
Just like our “voluntary” tax system?
***Had to chuckle at that. Wasn’t it the Clinton Administration that called them “contributions?”
