FDA Declares Vitamin B6 A Drug

The FDA has effectively banned a naturally-occurring form of vitamin B6 called pyridoxamine by declaring it to be a drug, reports the American Association for Health Freedom. Responding to a petition filed by a drug company, the FDA declared pyridoxamine to be "a new drug."

Now, any nutritional supplements containing pyridoxamine will be considered adulterated and illegal by the FDA, which may raid vitamin companies and seize such products. See the history of FDA raids on vitamin companies here: http://www.naturalnews.com/021791.html

Pyridoxamine occurs naturally in fish, chicken and other foods (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vitamin_B6), putting the FDA in the strange position of banning a substance from dietary supplements even though it is already present in the food supply.

"So, is B6 needed for anything?, or should I run out and buy B Complex while it’s still in the stores?"

Here you go: Vitamin B6

The previous link definitely lists them as two different compounds. From wikipedia:

“Pyridoxamine is one of the compounds composing vitamin B6, along with Pyridoxal and Pyridoxine. It is converted to the biologically active form pyridoxal 5-phosphate.”

You know, I’m really starting to buy into this whole Codex Alimentarius thing. I really think our “elected” officials truly are evil.

“All existing vitamin supps are still as legal as they were last month, no?”

I’m not sure. A lot of posters are implying that they are not!

So they are outlawing something that your body requires a lot of???

This isn’t for our safety! This is so the drug companies can make a profit!

Good Lord, now the government is making me sound like a liberal. But it’s true!

The FDA seemes destined to force every person in the nation to despise it. This is a stupid stupid thing to screw around with. It’s uncalled for, and is the sort of thing that does little more than anger people.

Healthy people are bad for business...

“I don’t think they are taking it out in foods, just in supplements.”

The foods on the list are fortified with B6 as the foods unsupplemented have NO nutritional value.

Take some ghinko balboa and the confusion will go away. Or, is that ghinko baloba or Rocky Balboa? Soylent Green was/is a freaky movie, where soylent green is a pill made from people.

What a load of horse dung!!!!! I’ve been expecting this, check out the list of items you can no longer purchase in Canada thanks to the WHO.. I KNEW when Obama took over our vitamins would be in danger, not only are we going to be limited in medical care we won’t even be able to take vitamins to stay healthy and out of their medical system.
