Just reported...

I voted for McCain, not that it mattered terribly in my state. Just as, against my better judgment, I voted for Corker over Ford. I am at the point of saying, “No more lesser of two evil votes.” It doesn’t make a difference that I can see.
R's voting Yea:
Collins (R-ME),Snowe (R-ME), Specter (R-PA)
All 56 Dems voted Yea, plus both "independents" (Liberman and Sanders.)
Cornyn (R-TX) and Gregg (R-NH) did not vote.
I’ve always hated being in the same party as Specter. He defended that unicorn killer back then.
As for Snowe and Collins-— we all knew about their lack of backbone.
But Corker — what’s he up to?
He voted against. Only RINOs to vote for were Specter, Collins and Snowe. Cornyn and Gregg did not vote. All Dems and Indies voted "yea".
Unbelieveable!!!
$4.2 billion of my money for a Black racist political organization, ACORN.
We are done folks...they will use that money to assure Democrats win every election from now on...coupled with the census department run by the White House.
You are 100% correct !!
However, now that there are Communists in power, they are voting with the Communists. That is why I ask the question. What difference does it make when the other Party is in power to have people that vote with them. It helps the Republican Party not at all - they only get the blame for being the 3 Republicans that passed it (never mind the 59 Dims...)
FOX NEWS JUST REPORTED: The Obama administration pointed to a new Gallup poll Monday in arguing that the public is still on their side.
The poll found Obama had a 67 percent approval rating for the way he was handling the stimulus. But the same was not true for those in Congress. Democrats had a 48 percent approval rating and Republicans had just a 31 percent approval rating for the way they were handling the process.
Wit the possible except that the two "not voting" will vote against it. That would make it 61-38. Although it's possible a Dem or three up in 2010 will vote nea, and hope they can hide behind "We needed to vote" to cover their cloture vote.
Der Furher The Messiah will be pleased.

It Looks like Obama’s numbers are actually improving since the election. Ugh!
I second Hanna’s request. Please explain the procedural maneuver comment “You always have one guy who supports the fillibuster to oppose the fillibuster so they can bring it up for a vote again.”
Thanks much...
amen
It may be getting time to max out the withholding allowances and consider a conscientious objection to taxes if this is the manner in which government will be operated... the only recourse would be to keep the money away from those who are abusing the privilege.
I agree with you and it affects all levels of politics.
It would have been a dumb thing, but he did NOT do it, according to the Senate Roll Call Vote.
Rather, only a Senator on the prevailing side may bring it up again.
Wouldn't matter if they did. At this point they only need 51 votes to pass. (VP vote doesn't come in to the picture, since there are only 99 votes right now, and there cannot be a tie, the only time the VP can vote.) But there might be 100 by the time the final bill gets out of conference committee.
???? Is there another opportunity for a filibuster after the conference committee, or must that be a straight up and down vote????
No, only 50 votes are required on final passage. Given a 'Rat VP or as currently the case, an open seat. It's a vote to cut off debate and move to that final vote (final Senate vote that is) that requires 60 votes. They got 61.
You are absolutely right. I see that they carted Kennedy out though.
That's actually a Good Thing. It means no more than a single Sinator can change their vote, so as to "hide" from their voters, and still pass the beast.
I'd like to see them pass this beast through their ureters. :(
