Just checked the airlines. Looks like we can get reasonably priced tickets to DC. Will arrive Sunday night. Available to protest Porkulus Monday and Tuesday and return to Fresno as a free man on Wednesday.

I think you're right. I doubt that Mr. Smith could be elected dogcatcher in today's America where big money and the brazenly biased media play such a major role in who gets elected to every office. I don't even want to think about what the US election process will be like after just four years of the Anointed One and a Reid/Pelosi Congress, nevermind eight years God forbid, of that gang of wretched tyrants doing whatever they want to make the process work in their favor.

Thank you for your astute and very thoughtful post. I am 75 and wish to say that it is young people like you, as well as my own sons, who give me hope for the future of our country.
Unfortunately our Congress is packed with doddering old men—and a few doddering women, I might add, who are still trying to convince themselves that they alone have all the answers—and have no conscience when it comes to spending our money. They are too busy trying to pay off all the hangers-on who elected them and keep telling them how wonderful they are. I have absolutely no doubt that when these hyper-inflated egos look in their mirrors—many times a day—they see crowns on their heads. They have lost all sense of reasoning and common sense.
Money for atv trails? Let’s see, when is the last time an atv trail provided jobs for people? They are power-hungry fools.
I have tried to call the local and D.C. office of Arlen Specter, unfortunately, our Senator, and the line is busy. Good news. I don’t think these are congratulatory calls.
Keep up the great work; your parents must be so very proud of you.
