OBAMA RE-SWORN IN
At 735 pm, Roberts administred the oath of office again to obama in the map room. Robert gibbs said the wh counsel, greg craig, believes the oath was fine Tuesday, but one word was out of sequence so they did this out of a "an abundance of caution." "We decided it was so much fun..." Obama joked while sitting on a couch. Obama stood and walked over to make small talk with pool as roberts donned his black robe. "Are you ready to take the oath?" Roberts asked. "I am, and we're going to do it very slowly," obama replied. Oath took 25 seconds. After a flawless recitation, roberts smiled and said, "congratulations, again." Obama said, "thank you, sir." Smattering of applause. "All right." Obama said. "The bad news for the pool is there's 12 more balls."
Interesting. Thanks for posting. It is a good idea to do it over.
Supposedly Biden made a comment that pissed Obama off; anyone know what it was?
Hundreds of millions on worldwide, live TV.
Chief Justice Roberts made the first blunder, the BRILLIANT obama made the second blunder...so, CJ Roberts was not the only one to ‘completely screw it up yesterday.’
That is very very clever.
the only small sliver of peace I have with this is that I believe that Obama Sr is not his father - doesn’t look anything like him.. ..a U.S. citizen is probably his father..so in the end..he would be eligible for President..even if all the paperwork said otherwise. Funny how DNA would make all the difference in the world for the leader of our country.
And perhaps this is what the CIA knows. I have no doubt that there are some hefty files in the CIA/FBI on his grandfather.
If I had twenty words to say I would write them down and do just fine.
Obama made the first mistake, he jumped in early when Roberts said “I, BHO, do solemnly swear”. He jumped in after BHO. Roberts had to restart, and he seemed to get off track. Surprising that Roberts could screw up like that. I know it by heart just from watching lots of history channel.
Are you saying his grandfather is really is father? If so, where did he turn out the ‘black’ from?
OH NO..that is not what I am saying..though some people think that..along with his grandfather really isn’t his grandfather..and he was placed with the family. But he has the ears.
I think his father is someone else. I don’t know who. Malcolm X. Frank marshall davis...or mother doesn’t really know because she slept around so much. Who knows. A man who was part of the Bay of Pigs invasion living in exile in the US with CIA contacts reportedly claims a Cuban is his father. That might be true too.
Correctly.
Bueller knows! Bueller knows!
"Good morning"????
Wow! Then obama screwed up twice if he walked on Justice Roberts lines...’cause after Justice Roberts misplaced the word ‘faithfully’...obama paused, Justice Roberts repeated the line corrected. However, obama went back and said it as Justice Roberts first said it.
sure
What I found particularly interesting was this line from the AP story:
“The president said he did not have his Bible with him, but that the oath was binding anyway.”
What is this?
Does Roberts' authority only flow when he wears his robe?
Was there something symbolic that Obama did before reciting the oath (besides playing "At Last" in the background)?
Can Roberts be official without wearing the robes (yes, of course, but why make him wear the robes)?
I guess that was Roberts' punishment -- being made to wear the robes when re-administering the oath.

LOL! I don’t know . . . when they reported it it sounded like it was at the time Roberts re-administered the oath. Something about Obama going over and putting his hand on Biden’s shoulder with a disapproving look.
Wonder why he did it without a Bible this time? (or do I???)
It's the small audiences that get you.
Smilin’ John oughta read this (has or has this not been on FR ?) for his bedtime reading, often:
