A leading Russian political analyst has said the economic turmoil in the United States has confirmed his long-held view that the country is heading for collapse, and will divide into separate parts.
Professor Igor Panarin said in an interview with the respected daily IZVESTIA published on Monday: "The dollar is not secured by anything. The country's foreign debt has grown like an avalanche, even though in the early 1980s there was no debt. By 1998, when I first made my prediction, it had exceeded $2 trillion. Now it is more than 11 trillion. This is a pyramid that can only collapse."

He predicted that the U.S. will break up into six parts - the Pacific coast, with its growing Chinese population; the South, with its Hispanics; Texas, where independence movements are on the rise; the Atlantic coast, with its distinct and separate mentality; five of the poorer central states with their large Native American populations; and the northern states, where the influence from Canada is strong.
He even suggested that "we could claim Alaska - it was only granted on lease, after all." Panarin, 60, is a professor at the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and has authored several books on information warfare.

America breaking up like Russia did has been their wet dream since 1990.
We’re in a pickle and no amount of patriotic shouting can change it. Read Bret Stephens in this morning WSJ about the inability of the world to fight the sea piracy. The same arguments he uses can be applied to the financial meltdown. Politically correct measures ain’t gonna fix it.
The sleeping prophet, Edgar Cayce (1878-1945) , predicted as much due to political and geological changes.
I was stationed (Navy) near Virginia Beach, where Cayce’s ARE Association is headquartered. I spent a lot of time in the library there.
He predicted the Great Depression, Hitler, the nation of Israel, independence of India, etc; as well as future inventions such as infra-red technology. His medical knowledge during his trance state was remarkable for one so un-schooled.
Cayce predicted a long term economic cycle of 24-25 years which predicts depressions and major recessions. Starting with a base year of 1907, every 24th or 25th year preceisely describes an economic downturn. Based on that Cayce formula, it would make the year 2006 or 2007 as the years for the next depression.
I’d say that’s pretty right on. Better than those Harvard economists.
Interesting site for summary of his predictions:

somehow i dont see the US breaking up into 6 parts while Russia becomes the leader of the world as an accurate prediction. And its comical to discuss our collapse when their stock market cant stay open for 2 days in a row
Oh please, don’t attack Alaska! Should you clowns come while we have an Obama-type in the White House, naturally the US armed forces will be kept in “reserve”...just in case you should do something really serious, like going after San Francisco! Our weak-kneed Commander in Chief would wear out those knees, negotiating for the return of our own state! (Or at least a portion of it.) The problem is dummies like me! We would actually be willing to fight for this country. Millions of us. And Alaska is so friggin cold and I’m not getting any younger. So wait until some honorable, actual American is back in the White House, huh!
I wonder if that is the book I had to read in Political Geography a million years ago? 1986? It should made a lot of sense, you could see how it could happen.
This guy may be dead wrong about the US but , as a Russion, he does know just how fast things can come unraveled. We here in the US have enjoyed 140 years of relative political stability but in a couple of years that could all come crashing down. Our soon to be president has shown that he has no regard for the Constitution that holds us together as a nation. What then is to prevent strong states like Texas from refusing to shoulder the burden of the collapse of California? There are strong independence movements in Vermont, Alaska and other states as well.
I don’t envision a second civil war but sweeping and profound change is certainly coming and not for the better.
I cannot remember any examples from the book because all I needed to understand was how cults, especially the suicide cults, only happen on the West Coast. I wonder if he would alter the boundaries of the map today.

If the United States does break up (Very Unlikely) I agree that they will be six divions. The division points will be based on two factors. Independence will go to regions that have natural resources, and are willing and able to fight to keep them. The decline of manufacturing means that we have to import much of our manufactured goods. The drunken sailor spending of the Fed must eventually cause paper or electronic assets to diminish in value. So regions with natural resources will be able to trade both with domestic and foreign sources to get what they need and want. Regions that dont have tangible assets will be left behind.
Break away regions.
(1) Alaska:
Resources Oil, Uranium, Gas, Fish, Gold.
They have guns and know how to use them. Cannot be invaded without permission from Canada and can easily trade oil to get support from China/Japan in preventing naval blockade.
(2) Hartland. Midwest farm belt + States of the former Confederacy.
Resources: Coal, Oil, but most of all FOOD. In addition if they can pick up Southern Illinois and Ohio they can bag the few auto plants that are actually running efficiently. They might also end up with most of the military especially if they can pick up Virginia (Atlantic Fleet) and Kentucky (1st armored division and the piggybank at Ft Knox.). When the rebels have all of the Tanks, Ships, Food, Gold and several thousand nuclear weapons it makes it very hard to tell them they cant go. Downside May loose some of Texas to being Nuevo Mexico and Virginia is looking more and more like New York.
(3) Mountain States:
Resources: Timber, Industrial Metals, Control of transcontinental shipping routes
Downside: Small population and no ports. Will need to cut a deal with someone else to defend them and allow their products access to the world market.
Left behind republics. These are independent not because they want to be, but because everyone else left the party.
(4) Peoples Republic of Hippystan: West Coast States: at least the coastal area and major population centers. Great ports, climate and some resources, but can a nation run entirely by loonies survive?
(4.5) Hawaii: May go with the Hippystan, declare independence or become a new Japanese prefecture.
(5) Nuevo Mexico: Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, parts of California and possibly some of Texas will rejoin Mexico Its the reconquesta, learn to love it. Probably should have built that wall when ya had the chance.
(6) Rustbelt: Great Lakes States + New England.
Too many people, too many liberals, too few jobs, no serious resources. May retain the old national capital in Washington or move to New York depending on which way Virginia goes.
His analysis of US regions is idiotic.
I don’t think he means Native American Indians, I think he means Caucasians, non recent immigrants.
well I will not lose on bit of sleep if the north east joins Quebec and leaves us alone.
please go but on conditions
you take all homo’s
all liberal activist
illegals can go
child molesters they can take seeing as they think they can live with them in their communities.
please do go and the other condition is do not come back
we will have out country side back
clean living and clean air
teachers who teach
normal marriage with no brainwashing
religious freedom for those who follow religion
a strong military
right pack your bags girlie men , liberals and homo’s I95 is waiting for you we don’t care for you views, agenda’s or the ball dropping at new years.
we can go it alone, we have the agriculture, industry, ports, people oil and gas this time
mentioned it already my friend
the north east is leaving us along and taking all homo’s liberals girlie men with them.
bye bye.
I-95 north awaits as does 81.
to think I can go and take the kids to key west now and no homosexuals will be there , be just a family clean fun holiday.
Brilliant.
Let Russia go for them as they will never come down here as they know we put a fight up with our guns and guns will be banned in the north east states of New America
I’ll fight for AK as most of the south will as will the midwest but I do not know many who will fight for the north east
"The most immediate of Titor's predictions was of an upcoming civil war in the United States having to do with "order and rights".[9] He described it as beginning in 2004,[10] with civil unrest surrounding the United States presidential election, 2004. This civil conflict that he characterizes as "having a Waco type event every month that steadily gets worse"[11] will be "pretty much at everyone's doorstep"[12] and erupts by 2008."

This is, maybe, the dumbest thing Drudge has ever posted.
And that’s saying a lot.
the south and the midwest plus AK gets the nukes and all military equipment
many up in the north and north east do not like war or weapons so as good neighbors we’ll take them like good ole southern gentleman
