Vanity: Fox News Says Palin Did Not Know Africa Was Continent, Not Country

Carl Cameron just said McCain campaign shocked to discover Sarah Palin did not realize Africa was a continent, believing instead that it was a country. She did not know the countries in NAFTA. She refused offered preparation for the Couric interview and threw temper tantrums over adverse press.

Wow. Dumping on Sarah in a big way. Shep asked how on Earth the McCain camp could have ended up picking such a dope (not exact words, but sense of what he said).

They did point out she seemed to help the polling numbers.

I knew this was going to be the template, but I was surprised at the level of nastiness on Fox News. Looks like elements of the McCain campaign is determined to make her the scapegoat for the loss. (Couldn't have been anything about the man at the top of the ticket.)

Fox News has gone from pimping for Obama to trying to resurrect McCain. Lets face it McCain was a loser from day one. If it wasn't for Gov. Palin he wouldn't have received any votes.

I think we have an accord. All I am really saying is that there is plenty of time for us to move forward.

The Republican Party needs a major overhaul...towards the Right. Sarah Palin may or may not be our standard bearer; that remains to be determined, but let's not build her into something that she is not. She is a neophyte on the national scene and she has had a baptism by fire.

I like her, but I am a patient Conservative. I will wait and see and I will consider all criticisms of her and all that her defenders say.

If I only listened to President Bush's critics, I would believe him to be the devil rather than the very good man I know him to be...far from perfect...and very disappointing on some fronts, but a very fine, moral man whom I admire...warts and all.

“Fox also called FR a hate site. Screw them.

When?”

When O’Reilly allowed Lannie Davis to get away with it on his show. That was when Hillary was still the One.

My god. Insisting that your candidate know the seven continents is satanic?

You are what scares me about our party.

Sheesh.

I agree with you that she fired up the base initially. However, she alienated moderates, AND she started alienating conservatives as it became clearer that she was not up to the job. Her numbers dropped steadily through the campaign.

She was a mistake.

Unbelievable. People who dare to question the qualifications of a candidate are accused of being in alignment with SATAN, and I’m the ass????

The craziness here is getting really pathetic.

It wouldn't have mattered. McCain was DOA either way. And judging from the horrible manner in which he managed his campaign, if that had been the way he governed as POTUS, we really would have been in deep doo doo. The fact is, like Obama, McCain has never had any executive experience, he was just in the Senate longer. And purely judging from the way both candidates ran their respective campaigns, Obama was a much better executive, although I greatly disagree with his stated policies.

If you went away for a while (Take a break, man), the craziness and stupidity level would decrease markedly.

McCain wouldnt or was incapable of attacking Obama on anything. Even his base before the 3rd debate was angry at him for such an incompetant campaign.

McCain attacked his conservative base at rallies more than he attacked Obama. Even his acceptance speech had him admonishing the crowd.

Lannie Davis? Bill O'Reilly himself called FR a hate site.

“Lannie Davis? Bill O’Reilly himself called FR a hate site.”

Yes, he did. Lannie Davis suggested it to him and he agreed.
