OBAMA TRIED TO STALL GIS' IRAQ WITHDRAWAL [election is over?]

WHILE campaigning in public for a speedy withdrawal of US troops from Iraq, Sen. Barack Obama has tried in private to persuade Iraqi leaders to delay an agreement on a draw-down of the American military presence.
According to Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, Obama made his demand for delay a key theme of his discussions with Iraqi leaders in Baghdad in July.
"He asked why we were not prepared to delay an agreement until after the US elections and the formation of a new administration in Washington," Zebari said in an interview.
Obama insisted that Congress should be involved in negotiations on the status of US troops - and that it was in the interests of both sides not to have an agreement negotiated by the Bush administration in its "state of weakness and political confusion."

I've noticed that. Very strange. Also, as far as I know, no denial from Obama, whose team prides itself on rapid responses. He almost has to deny this, even if it's true, doesn't he?
Why would he wait for more information?? He can just read the NY Post article, it's not like someone on a blog created the story. Also, he's saying NOTHING about McCain's not being able to use a keyboard. I don't know, Rush is off the mark today...yapping about Lohan? Who cares.

Yes, but all he has to do is deny he said it and it turns into a stalemate. This could have legs politically, but I can’t imagine it will get to the point of legal action. I guess we now know why the dems and the media were so upset with US surveillance of Iraqi leaders.

I am SO disappointed in Rush today...I was so outraged all weekend over the McCain email story. And then with this story, I couldn’t wait to tune in! Enough already with the financial stuff...and Joe Biden’s road show. It’s like he’s just letting precious airtime tick away.
