Governor Sarah Palin! Or, actually, what she signifies.
We've often stated on FR that if the Republicans would only run true conservatives then we'd win more elections. We'd keep the White House, build conservative majorities in congress, replace liberal activist judges with original intent constitutionalists, and eventually overturn Roe v Wade and begin rolling back some of the damage inflicted upon our beloved republic by the socialists and liberals.
John McCain's bold choice of the unabashed pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-liberty, small government, strong defense, fiscal conservative, Sarah Palin, signifies a return to conservatism within the Republican Party.
And the fact that Republicans and conservatives of every stripe, including the Christian right are flocking to her side and that the conservative grassroots has been re-energized literally overnight is proof that when offered the choice of truly conservative candidates, conservatives and Republicans will react accordingly.
Even though I've stated in the past that I would not vote for McCain, I will be supporting this ticket. Governor Palin is a God-fearing, kick butt conservative and I'd much rather have her advising and standing in the wings for the presidency than Joe Biden. I'll definitely pull the lever for her. And I'll do all I possibly can to keep the America-hating Marxist Barack Hussein Obama out of the White House.
Do it for Life. Do it for Liberty. Do it for our troops. Do it for America!
Same thoughts here. Do not care much for McCain, BUT looking to the future with Governor, err, Vice... ah no... PRESIDENT PALIN. Man, that rolls off the tongue so easy.
Unfortunately, “maverick” John McCain still has a long history of disappointing conservatives on a variety of issues, and “maverick” John McCain truly has plenty of time to disappoint many conservatives again and again on a variety of issues!
It’s worse than that, Jim... His brain is missing!
McCain, for all his flaws, has always been his country's imperfect servant.
OBAMA's own words convict him:
Barack Obama: Im the only major candidate who opposed this war from the beginning; and as President, I will end it. Second, I will cut tens of billions of dollars in wasteful spending. I will cut investments in unproven missile defense systems. I will not weaponize space. I will slow our development of Future Combat Systems. I will institute an independent Defense Priorities Board to ensure that the Quadrennial Review is not used to justify unnecessary defense spending. Third, I will set a goal for a world without nuclear weapons. To seek that goal: I will not develop nuclear weapons; I will seek a global ban on the production of fissile material; and I will negotiate with Russia to take our ICBMs off hair-trigger alert, and to achieve deep cuts in our nuclear arsenal.

Mark Davis asserted that J.C. Watts was supporting
Obama, but I didn’t see anything definitive on the
links there to support that. (But I didn’t dig in
and check them out that close).
If Mark Davis says Watts is supporting Obama, then
I would almost bet it is so.
Of course, the best way to find out would be to ask
J.C. Watts himself, if you can find an email addy
for him.

IMO, not without great difficulty. It will be no better or easier than it has been with Bush. In fact, many here who have openly been supporting McCain (pre-Palin) were strong Bush supporters and now the post-Palin Sarah fans have joined them. Those of us who worked so diligently to stop McCain's SB2611 were attacked relentlessly by Bush ‘supporters’ with ‘no-matter-what’ attitudes, i.e, don't criticize another (R). No doubt, the Palin ‘devotees’ will make the existing dissention even worse.
By the way, has Sarah revealed her position on border security/amnesty yet? McCain sounds more adamant than ever about his pro-illegal position.

So let’s all vote for Obama — is that your point?
Amen!

Like Bill Whittle wrote- Now there is a reason for us to win rather than just for them to lose.
You seem to be another Sarah Palin in politics, are you a Christian too?
I have had many liberals tell me in bygone years that I would never support a woman in politics. I always replied: Nonsense! Give me a strong conservative woman any day.
It has been a couple of fun weeks. Still, two months are two generations in politics.
