Mr. Robinson, I can't argue the point. Actually, McCain was going to get my vote before, although not my enthusiasm.

I have had many liberals tell me in bygone years that I would never support a woman in politics. I always replied: Nonsense! Give me a strong conservative woman any day.

It has been a couple of fun weeks. Still, two months are two generations in politics.

Question, for anyone who wants to answer: did McCain and his campaign have even the beginning of a clue about the meter-pegging level of enthusiasm and support the Palin pick would generate amongst Conservatives?

I think the game-changing (sorry for using what is becoming an over-used cliche) nature of the Palin pick really took them by (pleasant) surprise.
