Al-Qaeda Draws New Recruits Via Internet

Al-Qaeda is using the Internet to recruit vulnerable young people to its terrorist network, according to a programme aired on Saudi Arabian TV late on Tuesday.

Umm Osama, the founder of al-Qaeda's first women-only website, al-Khansa, joined several others on the programme to discuss how they renounced jihadist ideology.

Among those who sought a response to this question was an imam from the Medina mosque, Saleh Ibn Awad al-Mudamsi, and the father of a young al-Qaeda suspect held in an Iraqi prison. Read More

IMHO it's a black eye for those in charge of immigration law (whatever their judicial, political or administrative position) when deported people are back in the USA within days and / or weeks of their deportation and free to commit heinous crimes against America and Americans including potentially arson in this case all over again.

This illegal alien (although not charged for the crime and therefore "allegedly") disrupted rail traffic in a big way when he burned the trestle the first time.

Deportation appears to be nothing more than an insignificant slap on the wrist to devious and resourceful criminals. .

This is not only distressing Cindy, it's disgusting!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
RELEASE No. 20080705-04
July 5, 2008

ISOF, IA detain eight suspected criminals, kill suicide bomber in separate operations (Ninewah province)

Multi-National Corps – Iraq PAO

BALAD, Iraq – Iraqi Special Operations Forces and Iraqi Army soldiers detained eight suspected criminals and killed a suicide bomber in the Ninewah province, July 4.

In one operation, ISOF conducted a mission in the outskirts of Mosul to detain the leader and other cell members of the Islamic State of Iraq, a front organization for al-Qaeda in Iraq. The group is known for operating support networks for weapons supply lines through Mosul to the north along the Tigris River.

Based on warrants, ISOF detained seven suspected criminals. The seven suspects make up a cell that reportedly uses intimidation to silence local Iraqis and extortion to finance the ISI as well as other criminals. The cell leader is also suspected of killing an Iraqi Police officer.

During the operation, one cell member targeted in the operation fled into a home and exited wearing a suicide vest with explosives. ISOF killed the individual with smallarms fire before he was able to detonate the vest in the area.

In another operation in Ninewah Province, the 3rd Iraqi Army Division captured an individual believed to be the leader of a separate AQI cell.

The suspect is allegedly operating along the Syrian border in the Ninewah province, providing refuge to transient foreign fighters, and is also involved in the facilitation of improvised explosive devices, vehicle-borne IEDs and other criminal activities.

During this operation, IA soldiers detained six other individuals believed to be involved with the AQI cell.

HELL ON WHEELS : BROOKLYN VAN WAS WIRED FOR CARNAGE
NEW YORK POST ^ | July 5, 2008 | LARRY CELONA and JOHN DOYLE
Posted on July 5, 2008 5:41:48 PM PDT by george76

A bomb-laden van found on a Brooklyn street by a car thief was wired to detonate by remote control, and had likely been sitting there for more than five months...

Investigators believe the homemade explosives found Thursday night in the Ford Econoline belonged to Yung Tang, 39, a Chinese national. He has been behind bars since he was caught Jan. 29 in Wallingford, Conn., with nearly identical bombs in his Mazda MPV minivan.

Also found in the MPV were two silencers, four hollow-point bullets and two radio-controlled detonators.

Days after that arrest, the NYPD searched his Brooklyn house and found yet anther van - a Ford Explorer - full of similar explosive devices.

Sources said the homemade bombs inside the Econoline - made of Styrofoam cups, 10-ounce water bottles, cans of WD-40 and five-gallon jugs filled with gasoline - were rigged to go off via a remote car-door opener.

Swords, bombs seized inside Afghan prison

Afghan security forces found more than 100 knives and swords, gasoline bombs and dozens of cell phones in a search of Kabul's main prison, the country's Defense Ministry said Saturday.

FR States involved in MKO removal from terrorist lists are accomplices in its crimes

"Any country moving officially in line with removal of the MKO from the terrorists' list will from the view point of Iran and Iranians be an accomplice in the terrorist acts taken by the grouplet," Mottaki told IRNA prior to leaving New York.

Bargain break - with the Mujahideen

Hard-up Polish students snapped up a bargain break in Paris - and found they'd been recruited into an Iranian terrorist group.

More than 3,000 Polish students signed up for the £5-a-head coach trip but were bussed straight to a demo for Iranian militants the People's Mujahideen. The group is listed as a banned terrorist group by both America and the EU.

"It was a shock," said one student. "I thought we were going to live it up in Paris - not join a terrorist group."

It's only by the grace of God the plans of Yung Tang failed. He should receive the same courtesies in this country that his country would give a foreigner who did the same thing.......guaranteed it would NOT be a long tedious trial and punishment would be swift and unchallenged.

Neighbor smuggles in arms to attack foreign forces

Security authorities have received information that a neighboring country is trying to smuggle arms and ammunition into Kuwait “so that its supporters in the country can use them against international forces, in case, it is attacked militarily,” reports Al-Wasat daily quoting reliable sources as saying. Sources say the neighboring country’s intelligence system is using all its means to supply huge quantities of ammunition to well-trained groups in Kuwait and added “cargo ships might be used to smuggle in the weapons.”
