In this election we have very a clear choice to make.
A choice between Victory against Islamic Terrorism or surrender to our terrorist enemy.
A choice between free market capitalist economy or socialism.
A choice between constructionist judges or liberal judges who legislate from the bench.
A choice between Life for the unborn or abortion on demand going wild.
A choice between lower taxes or higher taxes.
A choice between small government or big government.
A choice between John McCain or Barack Obama.
Let us choose John McCain. A Patriot, a war hero, and would be an excellent President.
God Bless America and our brave troops.
Every so often someone posts a thread like this (see http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1994443/posts) and all the haters pile on. Why, at this point, would you still bother reading through all the comments? I don’t. They are all broken records with a lot of hater time on their hands.
Dang, yur smart.
The ACU rating isn't the Holy Grail and I don't recall anybody on this thread saying that it was. So why setup such a strawman fallacy?
Anyway, the ACU ratings generally are a pretty good indicator of a congressman's voting record. Up thread I posted the ACU's 25 votes that they used for the 2007 rating. If you have other 2007 votes to add, have at it.
It starts getting fun about now.
Shall we use the John Birch Society in our consideration? They seem to be pretty gold standard to me.
2007 Senator McCain supported the interests of the Conservative Index - The John Birch Society 43 percent in 2007.
2006 Senator McCain supported the interests of the Conservative Index - The John Birch Society 38 percent in 2006.
Missing these years.
2002 Senator McCain supported the interests of the Conservative Index - The John Birch Society 65 percent in 2002.
This one doesn’t look promising.
I am less than pleased about McCain being the Republican nominee and would love to do a "no vote" at the top of the ticket, but there is too much at stake now. And Obama is downright frightening and seems to become more so each week.
Your follow-up posts are excellent as well and thanks for posting that Patton video. I had seen that before, but it was a pleasure to watch it again.
We need only look to the history of our first Revolution for that answer.
In my opinion, such a thing would begin spontaneously, after a small, but well informed group had simply had enough, and just one man stood up and said, "let's do something about it". That's how the first Revolution began.
It's in man's nature to fight back when he's been pushed to the point of near death, or destruction. These next four years could very well bring about such a perception amongst just enough good men, that they would "do something about it."
Every forest fire starts with just one spark.
Your example of the ACU ignoring SC nominations was from 37 years ago. The ACU does use SC nomination votes in their rating. Most recently was in 2006.
Look it up.
It appears I was off about a year:
2007 Senator McCain supported the interests of the Conservative Index - The John Birch Society 43 percent in 2007.
2006 Senator McCain supported the interests of the Conservative Index - The John Birch Society 38 percent in 2006.
Missing these years.
2002 Senator McCain supported the interests of the Conservative Index - The John Birch Society 65 percent in 2002.
2001 Senator McCain supported the interests of the Conservative Index - The John Birch Society 65 percent in 2001.
2000 Senator McCain supported the interests of the Conservative Index - The John Birch Society 67 percent in 2000.
1999 Senator McCain supported the interests of the Conservative Index - The John Birch Society 60 percent in 1999.
1998 Senator McCain supported the interests of the Conservative Index - The John Birch Society 50 percent in 1998.
1997 Senator McCain supported the interests of the Conservative Index - The John Birch Society 55 percent in 1997.
1995-1996 Senator McCain supported the interests of the Conservative Index - The John Birch Society 74 percent in 1995-1996.
O6 wasn't big enough?
I think many Freepers would be happy if we held just 50 House Seats, and 10 Senate Seats but kept our 'ideological purity'.
Next lifetime I’ll take a minute to consider it.

That and the lower taxes thing have the best chance, imho.
But with McRINO, I just haven't a CLUE what to expect EVER! My GUT feel is that he will SAY whatever he thinks he needs to get me to "feel good" about voting for him.
He CAMPS OUT with the DemoGogues ... er, Democraps ... all the time but FAILS to reach out to Conservatives, ya know!?!?!
RUSH is behind the curve on that statement. If he were 30 years old I might buy it. He isn’t.
With all due respect, consider the alternative, and our ability to get state educated children back.
'06 was nothing. In fact '06 was slightly below average for turnover in the sixth year of a President's term of office.
Isnt that one and the same thing?

I want you to tell me with a straight face how such a list ignores major issues.
Vote for getting the troops and American policy out NOW. That’s your choice.
I made the BAD mistake of voting for Perot in ‘92 and
have regretted it ever since. I won’t EVER go whacko
like that again!
NEVER !!!!
