I didn't know that either. Thanks. It will be a challenge for physicians forced to make a diagnosis between the two.
Some people pass through Puerto Rico en route to destinations in the Caribbean and making trip connections for Caribbean cruises. It's an exposure risk many will never comprehend.
Big Ditto.

“CUBAN INTELLIGENCE
Cuba said to broaden its spying against U.S.”
SNIPPET: “Cuba is extending its intelligence reach to track U.S. military activities, a former U.S. intelligence officer says.”

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “WASHINGTON — Cuba has extended its intelligence-gathering capabilities beyond the United States and Latin America to places where vital U.S. interests are at stake — like Iran, Turkey, India and Pakistan — a former top U.S. counterintelligence official told lawmakers Thursday.
Chris Simmons, a former counterintelligence officer at the Defense Intelligence Agency, said a series of intelligence setbacks for Cuba between 1995 and 2003 — such as the dismantling of a network of spies in Miami, the closure of an intellingece center in Canada and the arrest of former DIA Cuba analyst Ana Montes in 2001 — forced Cuba to tighten its intelligence operations.
Today Cuba puts trusted top intelligence operatives in charge of key embassy postings and operates more with allies like Iran and Venezuela, Simmons said in a briefing organized by Miami Republican Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen.
Cuba’s intelligence apparatus, considered one of the world’s most formidable, numbers more than 11,500 agents, he said, of whom about 3,500 are focused on international operations.”

“’Green explained that we typically think of terrorism groups strictly as Islamic and Muslim, but Christian extremist groups actually commit just as many acts’”
SNIPPET: “Let’s see. 10,380 violent attacks since 9/11 by Islamic jihadists who justify their actions on the basis of Islamic texts and teachings.
How many violent attacks since 9/11 by Christian zealots who justify their actions on the basis of Christian texts and teachings? Uh, none.
Major attacks: 9/11. 7/7 in London. March 11, 2004 in Spain. The Bali bombings. Several major attacks in India. Scores of thwarted plots. By Islamic jihadists.
Major attacks and thwarted plots by Christian supremacists? Zip.
As I explain in the book, this kind of talk by Gregory Green is not just stupid, although it is certainly that. It is dangerous, because it diverts our attention from the reality of the situation we’re in, and interferes with sober analysis of what we can and must do to defend ourselves.”
Thank you, Cindy. Not a good development.
You’re welcome SlowBoat407 and I agree with you.

.CHHATTISGARH, INDIA A group of 35 Hindu radicals severely beat up three Pastors and a few church members and got them arrested by the Police for preaching the gospel on Thursday, January 10.
.Nine Iraqi Christian churches and monasteries bombed this week as Iraqi Christians face persecution and are threatened with extinction.
.India: Teen Girl, Mother and GFA Missionary Beaten; Two Christian Workers Jailed
.China: Leaders of Fangcheng House Church of Henan Arrested
China Aid Association learned that a House Church leader in Kashi, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region was secretly detained on January 12. According to an eyewitness, Mr. A Li Mu Jiang was taken away from his home by State Security Bureau agents for an accused "national security issue." His wife was also taken from her home for interrogation in the evening of the same day.
Government officials continue to persecute House Church members and Christians in Xinjiang Province, as was the case in December of 2007, in which a Christian employee of Xinjiang Pacific Agricultural Resources Development Company, Ltd, was detained and sentenced to 2-3 years reeducation through labor, for allegedly revealing State secrets. The charges were a cover however, as the real reason for his arrest stemmed from his association with the owner of the company, an American and outspoken Christian.
Christian proselytism is discouraged, where not outright prohibited, throughout the Muslim world and Muslims who convert to Christianity (or any other religion) are subject to death according to Sharia law. Ironically, this situation is not applicable to the Muslim communities in the West: for where Muslim clerics struggle against the Christian missionaries in Islamic countries, Muslim missionaries in the West enjoy many freedoms and may welcome new converts.
Bomb materials found during Islamic terror suspect raids
It has been confirmed that bomb-making paraphernalia - including computer equipment and four timers - was found yesterday at five of the addresses searched during dawn raids yesterday morning in Barcelona.
Fifteen suspects - thirteen from Pakistan and two from India - were arrested, fourteen of whom have already been taken to Madrid for a provisional hearing at the High Court at the start of next week.

“Police Investigating Hate Crime In Brooklyn”
Reporting
Ti-Hua Chang BROOKLYN (CBS)
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “Police are investigating the beating as a possible bias attack. Community residents say this is not an isolated incident. They claim a half hour before the attack on Balkany, 15 black teenagers assaulted three Jewish teens on Brooklyn Avenue a few blocks away.
There is a pattern of racist attacks on Jewish Hasidic teenagers in crown heights on Fridays says a Rabbi visiting relatives on Carroll street.
Rabbi Ari Goodman, Chabad of Brunswick told CBS 2 HD the attacks happen on Fridays, when Jewish people cannot carry money or cell phones, leading him to believe the attacks are strictly racially motivated.
But these attacks - several last summer and in the last two weeks, are not black community versus Jewish community, says the head of a Hasidic street patrol.”

“Republicans say FISA authority in Constitution”
By Bill Gertz
January 21, 2008
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “Authority to conduct warrantless electronic surveillance comes from the Constitution and is vital to stopping foreign terrorist attacks and spies, says a Republican staff assessment of the revised Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.
“There is nothing new or aggressive about relying on Article II authority in the context of foreign intelligence surveillance,” stated the assessment produced by the office of Sen. Christopher S. Bond, Missouri Republican and vice chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence.
The 13-page assessment counters Democrats and other critics of the Terrorist Surveillance Program (TSP) who argued during a Senate filibuster of the legislation last month that electronic spying is illegal, began before the September 11 attacks, and that the program spied improperly on domestic telephone and electronic communications.”

“Israeli spy satellite successfully launched from India”
By YAAKOV KATZ AND JPOST.COM STAFF
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “Weighing just under 300 kilograms, the TecSar was developed by the IAI’s Space Division MBT and has the ability to create images of objects on Earth day and night, even in cloudy weather conditions - a capability not available in Israel’s Ofek satellite series.
The TecSar is reportedly capable of imaging with a resolution of up to 10 centimetres.
The Ofek 7 is a camera-based satellite, while TecSar is capable of creating high-resolution images using synthetic aperture radar, an advanced radar technology.
Once in space, officials said, the TecSar would be by far the most advanced Israeli satellite. In addition to the Ofek 7, Eros B and the Amos 1 and 2 (both communication satellites), Israel operates the Ofek 5 spy satellite, successfully launched in May 2002. IAI plans to launch the Amos 3 in the coming months.”

Iran slam Israeli missile testing as ‘attempt to boost soldiers’ morale’
Published: 01.21.08, 11:08 / Israel News
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Mohammad Ali Hosseini said that the Israeli missile testing, performed last week, was done “in order to boost the morale of the defeated (Israeli) soldiers who fought in the Second Lebanon War,” the Iranian news agency IRNA reported Monday.
“Israel is not in a position to threaten others,” added Hosseini, who continued to slam IDF operations in Gaza, calling them “the result of the Annapolis peace conference.” (Dudi Cohen)
