Greenspan is a typical frigging bureaucrat turned out to pasture and looking to cash in with a book. They all need to be cleaned out every 10 years and sent packing. Get their hind-ends out here in the woods where real people live. A pox on them all!!

“Bush lied to him about the truth of our prosperity.”

What the hell does that mean? I’m getting the impression that Greenspan really did not write this, or even read it.

I’ve always thought that Greenspan was a little slow cutting interest rates during George H. W. Bush’s term because he wanted to sabotage him and help clinton.

Clinton was able to attack Bush for causing a recession, and it’s one reason why he won the election. “It’s the Economy, Stupid!”

The Fed chairman generally makes sure that the economy is in good shape at the end of a president’s first term in office. Greenspan deliberately, IMHO, dragged his feet. So clinton got into office, blamed Bush for the recession, took credit for the following boom that was already under way and largely due to the Reagan tax cuts, and with the help of the MSM earned a reputation as an economic genius.

Greenspan has always favored the Democrats in his dealings.

Greenspan was always about six months behind the curve with his interest rate movements. He singlhandedly gave us the rescession that put Clintoon in office.

Did Alan mention corruption, or was that not important to him?

What an ass!

Reagan was nothing to these people. The cold war never happened. Billions weren’t freed. Reagan was an opportunist. Good God what a bunch of self-centered a.h.s make up the left.

Bush lied to him about the truth of our prosperity

What can that possibly mean? Isn't the "truth of our prosperity" something Greenspan should have been telling to Bush? Which one was the Fed chairman here?

If you want to get on 60 Minutes. You HAVE TO bash Republicans. There is no way around that.

Clinton and the economy? ROFL !

Clinton's success was the dot-com bubble that burst in 1999. Between McCauliffe's WorldCom scam and the phonied-up prosperity of the dot-com's, they claimed projections of HUGE SURPLUSES, just before Ken Lay and Enron and dot-com's were discovered as over-sell.

I read Reagan’s diaries. Looked like a pretty bright, savvy man to me.

What pathetic weasel Greenspan is. With his money and at age what, 81, what does need to write and sell a book for? History will show he was the one that wasn’t so bright—and oh yeah,Clinton was so bright—well explain the dot.com bust then.

And doesn’t his wife, Andrea Mitchell, make enough money buttkissing Democrats and Timmy Russert, that Alan has to hawk a book.

How small does a man have to be to trash Presidents, in this manner?

History will remember Bush and Reagan well, and say Alan who?

First Goldwater, then Greenspan.

Is it inevitable that when old conservatives marry younger women they go all wobbly? At least Fred Thompson is an exception.

Bush inherited an on-going recession when he took office in 2001. Then the attacks of 9/11 made everything worse. Bush cut taxes and the economy recovered then grew.

Greenspan has been talking recession since he retired. If he is a Republican he is from the Chuck Hagel school.
