This is precisely why Petraeus and Crocker did not submit their testimonies prior to today. The Dems had no time to assemble their hit-questions.
The Republicans also didn't have access, of course, but their position is not so dependent on showing Petraeus and Crocker to be wrong/lying/etc....
And so the R's can ask real questions, for clarification and edification, which Petraeus and Crocker can answer meaningfully. It would be really good if an R or two would ask some actually tough questions.

Simply by quoting Lantos and Moveon’s ad in the New Yuk Slimes, he gives them ‘airtime’!!!!!!!!!!! Like FoxNews, the commies get airtime whenever they’re talking and whenever the Pubs are talking!!!!!!!!!!!!!Hence they win the election, since no one’s ever talking sense! The reason for the “softball” questions is that Petraeus and Crocker have the detailed knowledge and credibility to make them appear like softballs. The only way that the Dems can attack them is thru ad hominen attacks to destroy their credibility. I suspect that will come from the other than the chairmen, Lantos and Skelton. I have already heard Congresswoman Maloney talk about cherry picking data. Look for some hard questions after the recess.
