Terror Arrests in Fort Dix Plot FORT DIX, N.J.
May 8, 2007 - Six ethnic Albanians have been arrested in a plot to storm the Fort Dix installation in Burlington County.
Five of the suspects were arrested in Cherry Hill. They will be arraigned later today in federal court. Officials say it will happen in either in Camden or Newark.
Investigators say the suspects planned to use automatic weapons to storm the base and kill solders. The men were lured into a secret meeting to purchase AK-47s from an arms dealer, who was secretly cooperating with the FBI.
Officials say the suspects worked on a number of targets, including the Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, Fort Monmouth in Eatontown, and several Coast Guard stations.
Federal agents made the arrests when the suspects zeroed in on Fort Dix.
Officials say some of the suspects were caught on tape.

A tip helped authorities arrest six New Jersey men Monday night in connection to an apparent terror cell, according to NBC 10s sister station WNBC in New York.
Five of them were arrested in Cherry Hill, according to reports.
Investigators said the men planned to use AK-47s to storm Fort Dix and open fire on soldiers and civilians stationed at the New Jersey base, noting that other military locations were scouted by the terrorist cell.
Three of the unnamed suspects are brothers who are all believed to be Islamic radicals, according to sources. Some of the six arrested men were also born in Albania and the former Yugoslavia, but they have spent a significant amount of time in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, according to authorities.

NEW YORK -- Six men from New Jersey have been arrested in an alleged terror plot against soldiers at Fort Dix, according investigators.
Investigators said the men planned to use automatic weapons to enter Fort Dix and kill as many soldiers as they could at the N.J. base. Fort Dix was just one of several military and security locations allegedly scouted by this group, authorities said.
Investigators told Newschannel 4's Jonathan Dienst that these arrests are the result of a tip to the FBI and use of an informant to track the suspects. The terror suspects traveled over the last several months from New Jersey to the Poconos where they practiced firing automatic weapons, investigators said.
Investigators said the group discussed targeting numerous locations like Dover Air base, Fort Monmouth and several Coast Guard stations before deciding on Fort Dix as their intended target. Fort Dix is run in part by the Army and is a reserve-training center, but active units take part in training, including some which focuses on counter-terrorism....
How frightening. These out of control maniacs are everywhere and totally unpredictable.
It’s probably been reported, but just heard 3 of these people were in this country illegally.
Fort Dix Terror Plot Foiled
FBI: New Jersey jihadists targeted servicemen at Army base
MAY 8—A group of Islamic radicals conspired to kill U.S. servicemen at New Jersey’s Fort Dix Army base, but the plot was disrupted when the FBI infiltrated the cell with two paid informants. The terror plan is detailed in the below FBI affidavit, which was filed today in U.S. District Court in Camden, where the six plotters have been charged with planning to kill military members. According to the affidavit, investigators began probing the cell last January, when a video store worker contacted them after a customer brought a DVD to be duplicated. The DVD showed 10 young men “Shooting assault weapons at a firing range in a militia-like style while calling for jihad and shouting in Arabic ‘Allah Akbar’ (’God is Great’).” Within six months, the FBI had placed two cooperating witnesses within the terror cell, and both recorded meetings and phone conversations with the plotters. 15 mafia clans dominate Albania
8 May 2007 | 17:41 | FOCUS News Agency
Tirana. Albanian mafia consists of 15 clans, which rule the whole country territory, Koha Jone wrote, citing report of the French Institute for Investigating Criminal Risk. In the report is said that it is clear enouch that if they are able and continue to exist so many years, mafia organizations in Albania have influence over all political, police and military sphere. French specialists believe that the structure of the mafia in Albania is clan type as the relation between members of each clan are at most generic. Usually the members of one clan live near to each other sometimes even on the same street. In the report cited is also said that the relations between members of Albanian mafia are done on basis of special honor code, which have unarguable authority.

If you were at DU, I hope you washed before coming to FR :))
“Look every single state has it problems so just stop with the NJ lol stuff. This is serious. It could be your state next...Then will it be so funny???”
I’m with you, pandoraou. I’ve traveled....have visited most states, lived in four, and have lived in Europe. I would not want to live anywhere else but here. “Home is where the heart is,” and NJ is home for my adult children and me. (I’ve been here 29 years.) I have one child who lives at the beach and one near NYC with a breathtaking view of Manhattan from across the Hudson.
I love both areas.
This weekend my grandson and I saw an outstanding Broadway show in NYC, and the next day we walked one block from his home to the beach, picking up shells and running from the waves hitting the shore. I feel very blessed living here, and I couldn’t ask for more.
I use the facilities at Ft. Dix/McGuire at least once every two weeks. I’m due for a shopping trip/pharmacy visit this week. It will be interesting to see if there will added security now. From what I’ve seen, it was sufficient. The guards are armed, and when entering by car, there are zig-zag type entrances at all gates.
I got a message in my fortune cookie at lunch that spoke volumes (surprising for a fortune cookie message!!!)
I had to share it with you....
It said:
“Real courage is moving forward when the outcome is uncertain”.
Methinks there may be a supporter of the troops in a fortune-cookie factory somewhere in the continental USA! :D
LOL!! Well said, thanks!
From what I saw on the news one of them was a pizza delivery man who had access. You show your ID and then get in.I wonder how they all thought they would get in.
I've asked the same question about many democrats.
In fact, I've asked the same question about many republicans.
trying to catch up - are the names posted in the thread already? They are on the first page of that affidavit
Alas... We had high hopes after the 2000 election but were quickly dashed by Condi et al.
I wouldn’t be surprised if that changes.

Those are the names from the affidavit...some are also “alias’s”.
I sure don't want any of them here, either. After 9/11, a moratorium should've been enacted on immigration into the US, but King Bush has other ideas:
U.S. may open doors to 25,000 refugees

Refugee bill may allow terrorists into U.S.

President Bush says we're taking the fight to the (Islamofascist) terrorists, while at the same time bringing the anti-US, ass-backwards Islamo-scum to our shores. Sans the possibility of having a Dumbocrat as the next US President, '08 can't get here fast enough!
