We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.
One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to rule over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.
All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.
FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?
Do you really expect me to do that?
I’m just sure you’re SURPRISED!
not!
You see, unlike many who still remain here, I recognize that not everyone thinks exactly alike, and it doesnt make them evil, stupid, or traitorous.
***I still remain here, and I KNOW that I don’t think exactly like everyone else. Your post is incredibly full of exaggeration — thinking EXACTLY alike, EVIL/Stupid/Traitor. You’re just raising your own blood pressure. If you don’t agree with the core principles that drive this forum, just admit it; be up front about it. There are plenty of liberals who post here, but they don’t try to HIDE the fact that they’re liberals. If it’s something that’s being hidden, that is a big clue as to its propriety. Once you accept that part of yourself, you won’t feel the need to CHANGE the inhabitants who are comfortable with those founding principles. You can promote your liberal candidate and defend him as best as you can, but you would know innately that you’d be expected to be civil about it. Now, I just noticed that I said “you” a lot in this post, but what I really mean to say is more towards other rudophiles & say “y’all”.
BZZZZZZZTTTTTTT!!!!
We could make T-Shirts. They could say "I Survived the Free Republic 'Bug Zapper' Thread - Spring 2007" On the back would be dead bugs with the names of the zapped rudybugs.
One shot.
Were any of them conservative?
I am unhappy to see what this thread has degenerated into. I don’t like to see people use foul language and dwell on negative things. I have promoted FReeRepublic and conservative causes with time and money since the 2000 recount, and my actions and posts speak for themselves.
I will add your name. I just pinged people I knew to be against Rudy. There are probably better lists.
Maybe they'd collide and knock each other out.
It might very well happen. But that would then fall under the first part of my original statement which is: it’s NOYB.
And I generally don’t get between friends that are in disagreement. That’s why you won’t hear me saying much about individual bannings.
What you will hear me say is things that are in line with the post I repeated from HairOfTheDog. It’s sad, silly and asinine that it has come to all this. And even though I understand that folks may feel very strongly about one issue or another, to defend the rudeness and childish behavior as somehow “returning to conservative principles” is absolutely ridiculous.
You can be passionate and firm in your beliefs without being a horse’s rear end.
“You can be passionate and firm in your beliefs without being a horses rear end.”
Yes you can.
And if the Rudy supports hadn’t been, they would still be here.
“Sycophantic bullies”? Maybe, just maybe Jim is tired of having his site used to promote a candidate that goes against the very reason for its existence. And then when the inevitable heated debates start, the Rudy supporters show obvious disdain for conservatives who will not accept a liberal nominee. “knuckledraggers, sychophants, morons”, etc.
This is NOT a GOP website, and never has been.
While I certainly do not agree purging moderate republicans from FR is a good idea, many of these “moderates” chose suicide by cop. Read Katie-O’s opus. That tells you all you need to know how many felt about “socons” and “purists”.
Just visualize how I would be dealt with if I went to th eLog Cabin republicans website and started spouting off how great Duncan Hunter is and how his anti-gay agenda policies are really best for the country and the GOP.
Rob, you do not have anything to prove to anyone. Stay well my friend.
I stumbled at one of your later posts, seen replies and followed down to this one. I was always proud that the level of discourse on FR is so much superior to anything on the Left. This thread proved me wrong.
Re: to your posts ##9346, 9395, 9405. You are right, they are wrong. It is not a discussion, its yelling and screaming, and cheering for banning people who contributed time and intelligence to making FR a preeminent conservative forum. BTW, I also do not plan to vote for Rudy in primaries. I am so sorry that my joke of a tagline is the modus-operandi for so many people.
Sure. I think the reason you are unhappy is because your pals our getting a little discipline for a change. That's is the only reason that I can see as to why you even showed up here.
!!BZZZZZZZZZZTT!!...;0)
A. I’m not a “rudophile”.
B. See my posts above about how you can be true to your cause without being a horse’s rear end.
I may have exaggerated when it comes to your particular case, but I’ll bet we could find folks who have made those exact comments.
And you are right. It’s not for folks thinking EXACTLY like the folks in question. It’s even more ridiculous - it’s for disagreeing on maybe just a few things, after which they are branded as liberals, when their history clearly shows otherwise.
I’m not trying to change anyone. And if my posts about people acting like angst-ridden teenagers raise your blood pressure, then maybe I hit a little close to home, and I apologize.
I take it you were never on the receiving end of the abuse many of them dished out over a very long period of time. I wonder why not?
Probably time to move the horses and hobbits to greener pasture. The Phelps gang will shoot if you waste too much bandwidth on their reduced budget.
I've been trying to write a recap post, but I can't get it done.
I will try to stick to non-Presidential politics threads from now on.
