Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

Tell us about that other site, Coopster.

Do they have super secret decoder rings?

Do they have something to hide? Just curious...

I'm not "everyone" and, besides, why don't you answer your own silly rhetorical question?

This is a home base. Well put.

Bug zapper, you'd think they had the intelligence or at least the common sense to not go toward it but, alas.

Aww, give him a break.

He might be busy ‘cross posting’.

I defy you to show me where I have done anything that would warrant being part of the purge.

I have stated on here that I haven’t made my mind up about a candidate, nor will I get an opportunity to choose, as the Indiana primary comes too late to make a difference.

I am however, a realist, and will support whichever candidate runs on the Republican ticket.

I will also not be baited into losing my temper by a bunch of children.

I prefer answered questions to crickets. A few weeks ago I was thinking about setting up a rudy cricket roundup, because I had no idea this level of cleansing would occur.

Why isn’t it part of Freeper lexicon/protocol/manners to respond to posts? We could have a thing where we just notify the mod that the question hasn’t been answered and could they please delete such & such unsubstantiated post number after the offender has gone off to other threads & posted elsewhere. If they don’t answer, their nonsense gets removed rather than staying up in public like a monument that encourages others to do the same.

It is Lord of the Flies territory at the moment on this thread.

I agree with you Rob. And I'm really turned off by it. And I love this forum. Many of the best friends in the world are on this forum. I met my husband here. Perhaps I am not associated with the most serious political muscle on the forum; I post Hobbit Hole threads and ping articles about dogs and horses. But I've been a monthly donor and frequent poster here for years, and I've worked with others here to support our troops, not just with words, but with lots of money and time.

Right now though, I don't care which Republican candidate wins the nomination. I just don't want to be associated with the nastiness that has become this forum lately. I LOVE good debate. But this isn't good debate about the issues, this is childish name calling against pretty decent people. Not on my free time. When I post about the issues, I try to debate cleanly and fairly and there's not been much of that to be found on campaign threads of late.

Those who are most pleased with how this thread is going are the types I least want to be associated with. The Admin Moderator and owner of this site is/are now posting things like "Shutup Asshole" and "Up yours asswipe". That sort of language used to be not allowed here, those kind of posts would have been pulled as inappropriate. Now they have a cheering section.

Blech.

Where is the mature, civilized, intelligent political debate going to be for this election? It's not been happening here. And that's too bad.

I can’t remember where I read it here on FR, but someone pointed out that most candidates run towards their base during primaries and then towards the other side during elections. That means rudy would run LEFT during the general. And Hildebeast would be running right. What a fiasco.

In the time that I’ve been here I never thought of him as anything but conservative. I don’t know what happened to him these last few days. I was so shocked to see what he was doing that I posted to him. That might have been my second post to him in total but, like I said, I always read his comments and this seemed so out of character for him.

Nothing over there to hide. I just registered to have some contact with folks who have along history here, and weren’t persona non grata until recently.

You see, unlike many who still remain here, I recognize that not everyone thinks exactly alike, and it doesn’t make them evil, stupid, or traitorous.

That’s called interacting like a normal person, or at least like an adult.

I try to focus the walk and downplay the latest talk.

As much as I want to believe Mitt Romney, I am not inclined to believe what he says while he is in campaign mode. Especially when I compare it to what he actually DID while Governor. He's Rudy-lite, in my opinion, without all of the adultery baggage. I wish it wasn't so. To me he LOOKS presidential. Too bad we can't have someone with Duncan Hunter's background and conservative positions on the issues inside of Mitt Romney's body.

Ok then - what would YOU say?

I think that everyone would then turn on DH/FT like a pack of wild dogs. That’s the level of reasonable discourse around these parts.

It is a sickening thing to watch the toadies and the foul-mouthed sycophantic bullies be put in charge. I hope Jim likes his new tone because it is going to be tough to clean up.
