Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

I may have to amend my comments. After seeing what in the Sam Hill just went on, I think that guy was the perfect zot target. But I don’t take glee in seeing long term freepers getting the boot; I simply do not understand why someone would spend so many years on a forum that, when it comes right down to it, they never really did agree with the founding principles. That’s basically being a long term, undercover troll. Some of these zottees are Iscariopublicans — they’ve cozied up to the leadership, gone along with everyone else, and then at the first sight of silver, betrayed the cause. No one remembers betrayers fondly.

RIO RANCHO, N.M. — New Mexico is hoping to keep drunks off the road by lecturing them at the last place they usually stop before getting behind the wheel: the urinal.

The state recently paid $21 each for about 500 talking urinal-deodorizer cakes and has put them in men’s rooms in bars and restaurants across the state.

When a man steps up, the motion-sensitive plastic device says, in a woman’s voice that is flirty, then stern: “Hey, big guy. Having a few drinks? Think you had one too many? Then it’s time to call a cab or call a sober friend for a ride home.”

The recorded message ends: “Remember, your future is in your hand.”

I was away for a while, just got back.

There's no rush to reply. Every individual here has a real life to attend to. Even if it doesn't seem like it sometimes.

Apolog(ies) accepted, FRiend.

Cool! :-)

Who owns those companies of which you speak?? I am aware of the jobs that the Hispanics are taking over. But they’re willing to work at the low paying jobs. Some of them work their way up, right?

Mostly Republicans, who like the cheap labor.

WHO is paying these wages? and to which political party do they donate?

The GOP is just as guilty as the Democrats with this one.

Living in PA near Carlsisle I see plenty of American truckers. And the other day I did see an Hispanic semi trucker, but his truck was from San Antonio, TX. I didn’t stop to ask for his ID, though.

I hate that too. Trust me on this: the reaction you’ve seen on this thread is a fair measure of the work of CP.

Madam? Where did I disparage Fred Thompson? I just said that he played a prosecutor on TV, but if he was really one in his pre-Senate days, then I am unaware of it. So thanks for letting me know, but you don’t need to jump on the bashing bandwagon.

Please point out where i disparaged either Fred Thompson or Duncan Hunter, for that matter. In fact, I think Duncan Hunter Ambassador needs to visit this thread next time he comes to FR.

“Do you know he has illegally kept the records sealed from when he was mayor? He broke state law by providing illegals with welfare. He used public money to pay 6 $100K+ a year bodyguards to drive his mistress to the beauty parlor.”

Gossip and innuendo.

But she would always send us to the peach tree out back to select a suitable switch if she caught any of us repeating such language.

Gee, whenever I was told to 'go get something for me to beat you with' I always just tore the coner off a peice of paper and said wail away. LOL!

Well, if worse comes to worse, some people say they will hold their nose and vote for Rudy, others that they never will.

The best bet is to ensure we don’t get there.

If the worst happens and we DO get there, then we need to figure out what to do next.

Maybe Rudy and the Democrat will split the liberal vote, and we can slip a real conservative into office. But of course that is a pipe dream.

Maybe we can play fear of the liberal presidency into enough conservatives showing up NOT to vote for anybody for President but to vote enough republicans into the senate to block any liberal judges for 4 years of Hillary, after which we can elect a conservative republican.

There is nothing put pain and bad choices if Rudy wins the nomination, so lets work to make sure a real conservative wins the nomination and wins the election.

I wasn’t put on this world to settle for what will happen. I’m here to be a force for good, to make things happen.

Despite the opinions of some of the dearly departed, Free Republic is still the premier bastion of conservatism on the web. You’ve got to be certain some former Freeper would have forwarded this thread to the Rudy people out of fear of the plans to “Swiftboat” him. I know if I was for him, I’d be worried.

Do you think Giuliani’s people will try to reach out to you, to try to change your mind to accepting his positions?

In other words, you admit that Americans are willing to drive trucks for a living. When the wages drop to third world levels, you’ll claim that the reason Mexicans have taken over trucking is because Americans won’t do it. Just like you now claim that the reason Mexicans have taken over farm work is because Americans won’t do it. But you won’t acknowledge the real reason.

There are Americans at every economic level, not just your level. There are Americans willing to work, even in manual labor jobs. Just because you don’t see them in your little bubble world, doesn’t mean they don’t exist. But there are very few Americans who will work for third world wages. When you flood the country with immigrants from third world countries, guess what happens? Duh!
