Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

Check your underarms.

I knew no one would get it. It was meant to entertain the (EternalVigilance is the devil) idea. Which I thought, perhaps wrongly, that it might be funny to both sides. You know...when Chavez said he smelled sulphur. Oh nevermind...but it wasn't directed at you.

And don't try to offend me again, or might poke you in the eye with a sharp stick. (metaphorically speaking)

Thanks a load to all the “Pro- Life Conservatives” for handing the country over to Bill & Hillary Clinton ...

Rudy boosters should think about that before pushing a candidate from the far left of the GOP who would split the party.

Just as the spendaholic GOP leadership should have thought about the impact of their spending and cavorting with K-street would have on their ability to hold onto power.

But I see you're a charter member of the Han Solo wing of the GOP ("It's not my fault!").

Ya'll think you can push a liberal on the base and drift away from core GOP principles and the consequences are not your fault.

Which, at the end of the day, is the ultimate liberal position - that you bear no responsibility for the impact of your transgressions.

...the mission is clear - bring the conservatives back to the forefront and quit watering down the message to accommodate the leftward turn in the Republican party. Conservatives matter and watching this country descend into socialism and moral abyss requires a tough stand.

Bears repeating. If I'm not mistaken, that pretty much jibes with the message Jim Robinson originally posted at the start of this thread.

I wish they were harsher and more ferocious.

Beating the moderate middle voters into submission is not the way to build the party. It is going to take education.

From my post #3180 on this thread:

"We need to educate at least half of the population to understand why liberal ideas are wrong, and don't work. We need to educate at least half of the population to understand that personal responsibility, strong national defense, and strong family moral values are the correct way for people to live. It is hard to change minds by screaming, it takes reasoned discussion.

This one little thread is nothing.

I like people with a proper sense of proportion.

We need to educate at least half of the population to understand why liberal ideas are wrong, and don't work.

Nominating someone from the far left of the GOP, who is more in line with the Dems than the GOP on many key issues such as abortion, gun rights and the gay agenda, is not conducive towards such education.

Oh bullcrap. The left, the far left, took a stand and led the party and what did it get them? They won. Capitulating and compromising your values has no business being a part of the message anymore.

I want this country taken back and being mealy mouthed with innuendo, niceties, dialogue, consensus, compromise, and concern for feelings is not going to accomplish a thing.

You think this is the way to win a Presidential Election? You must be totally clueless regarding politics. I guess that is why you support strong-arm bullying tactics instead of reasoning.

You must have me confused with someone else, I don’t want to see Rudy get the nomination, I don’t think he will either.

do you disagree with 17,824? do you think we are going to bludgeon voters into agreeing with our conservative principles? how do you propose to start the discussion with the moderate voters?

“I’m completely right, you’re an idiot, sit down and shut up while I tell you what to think...”

Good luck with that approach.

There are still some scientists here - I know of several who hold advanced science degrees. We just don’t use them to beat up and belittle others, or intimidate them into submission like the DC crowd.
