There are still some scientists here - I know of several who hold advanced science degrees. We just don’t use them to beat up and belittle others, or intimidate them into submission like the DC crowd.

That’s good to know. This is a huge site and through the election cycle it will draw more activated voters in here. I’m sure the science community (I enjoy the space and astronomy stuff) will build as well.

This goes back to a snotty remark made to me about all the scientists having moved to DC. Which, of course, was nonsense -- a specialty of that house. I hope they will scientifically enjoy each others' company and not become, like, y'know, alcoholic. In fact, I think they should hand out microphones to all their members, turn on the web cams, and spend a month together. We could send over pizza and soda pop.

Meanwhile, I don't see that FR's scientific expertise has been diminished at all.
