Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

discussion as the free debate of ideas is one thing. Discussion by the left usually means what my teenagers think it means - lets talk about it until you give in and see things my way

There are some areas that are open for discussion, and some that are not if you are truly a conservative. Otherwise, the term conservative looses any meaning.

“There are still some scientists here - I know of several who hold advanced science degrees. We just don’t use them to beat up and belittle others, or intimidate them into submission like the DC crowd”

That’s good to know. This is a huge site and through the election cycle it will draw more activated voters in here. I’m sure the science community (I enjoy the space and astronomy stuff) will build as well.

No idea what you are talking about. Leave me out of any dispute you have with other Freepers.

Ex-freepers. And she wrote the exact same arrogant sentence you used above ten thousand times on FR. It was classic nopardons. Sad to see you take up her wicked mantle.

do you disagree with 17,824? do you think we are going to bludgeon voters into agreeing with our conservative principles? how do you propose to start the discussion with the moderate voters?

As usual, you set up a straw man and then seek to knock it down.

We're in the primary phase. So, you're not even asking the right questions, much less providing any answers here.

cosmology and astronomy are some of my favorites. You will find there are a lot of people who enjoy them. There is also a fair smattering of scientific articles posted here, with good discussion, and as technical as anyone can handle.

“I’m completely right, you’re an idiot, sit down and shut up while I tell you what to think...”

That's pretty much a good summation of your attitude here this morning, Rob.

Good luck with that.

I have enjoyed it for along time and my 10yr old son is really into science. He has gotten me into Blackhole Theory. But, it’s just a hobby for me, I am no expert, I usually lurk those threads.

Which, at the end of the day, is the ultimate liberal position - that you bear no responsibility for the impact of your transgressions.

That's gonna to leave a mark...

EV, you are one of the brightest and persistant individuals I’ve read/seen. It’s you methods I find destructive. And don’t think I’m part of some conspiracy with some of the obvious bugs still flying around. Everyone’s paranoid about everyone right now, and I’d like to see that dust settle.

One way to help alleviate that paranoia might be to back off and stop stirring the brew, know what I'm saying here?

I know who’s posting on other forums, and when I see them post here an hour later, I simply ignore them. Your way to intelligent in conservatism to want to swat flies in here. I personally could learn from you, but not while you’re in here swatting.

You must run an impressive G2 Intel operation, to know who's doing what on what forum, and I take my hat off to you for keeping your ear to the ground, that takes talent.

But as for EV, if he believes it necessary to 'swat flies' as you put it, that is his perogative, and if you don't approve of that you can always ignore his posts just as you ignore the posts made by some of those folks you're observing on the 'other' forums.

Everyone has their own approach, everyone has their 'preferred' methods of dealing with whatever they encounter, be it here on FR, or offline in the real world, and some people are going to approve, and some will not. At the end of the day, we all answer to only one Person, and that's the way it should be.

Mighty thin line between subtle humor and childish taunts. There's nothing at all funny about circle jerks. It's mere meanness with no originality or wit. Putting LMAO on a message is like having to hold up a "LAUGH" card to the audience. You're material stinks so you have to beg.
