Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

You do realize that it is all registered Republicans who are able to vote in a primary, right?

I certainly do. In fact, in some states, primaries are open to anyone who shows up at the polls and declares himself a Republican.

I also recognize that not all Republicans are social conservatives.

"Political establishment"? You do realize that it is all registered Republicans who are able to vote in a primary, right?

Counts your state. Some states have open primaries.

My point is that it isn't some fat cat, country club playing, man-behind-the-curtains, political establishment types who elect the candidates in the primaries. It is the grass root registered voters.

They would be the ones to blame if Rudy gets elected. Not the "political establishment" as EV eludes to.

Anyway, I think Fred will enter the race and get the nod.

I had my yellow dog democrat momma vote in a GOP primary once...she did it as a favor for me, because I was an activist.

Last election she voted in...passed on a few months later...so she died a republican...

AND they are also against defending ourselves in the WOT, are typically pro-abortion, pro-gay rights, and pro-drugs or at least what I’ve read about them

oops - you forgot "fairy dust - cross dressing" blah blah blah

Very good answer. But for some people it will never be a baby.

Sadly, that is correct.

I once had a daydream, and wondered how quickly Americans would arise as one and shut down the abortion industry once and for all if it were possible for someone to literally seize control of one of the ABC/CBS/NBC network satellites, and broadcast footage of an actual abortion, perhaps even a partial birth abortion, down to every TV set in America, preferably right during the evening TV news hour?

I think if anyone were to witness such a horror, that only if they had no conscience at all, would they be able to remain complacent and indifferent to the murder of 3 to 4000 unborn babies EVERY DAY in America.

The Creation/evolution threads got worse than this. Rumor has it the Terri threads were, too.

They were amazing. It was FreeRepublic at it's finest!

I do to, and have said so from the beginning. All this work to take down Rudy McRomney will in the end, in all likelihood, serve little but to promote the Republican status quo, and elect a moderate from TN. Joy...

You know EV, I kinda like Fred Thompson, not as much as my own candidate Duncan Hunter, but every time I hear Thompson, or see him, I can't help but feel like I'm looking at a Southern-fried latter day version of Gerald Ford, you know what I mean?

You would freak the majority of the people out ... they would turn on you and shut down the debate

IMO .. the best why to get a women to understand there is actually a baby inside them ... is to show them a sonogram ... those things can show amazing details of their babies

His record of “bipartisanship” is clear. But, at this point, I have little hope that conservative folks care. And, for awhile now, I’ve been expecting the next stage here to be FR becoming “FredRepublic,” and, the way things stand, I seriously doubt I’ll be disappointed.

Apart from everything else that has been said, Giuliani hasn't a chance of being elected because his voice is too high. That is fatal to his presidential hopes and probably fatal even to his Republican nomination. Crimeys, even Hillary has a deeper voice than Rudy.
