And, so it starts.

I've made my views known throughout. This is nothing new.

Well, there you go, guys. This is your big chance to climb right back on top. Make the most of it, and just remember that you’ve got the future of the country in your hands.

Why the surprise folks?

I made an observation about Fred Thompson (and I qualified that by stating that I DO like him), reminding me of a 'Southern-fried Gerald Ford' and the fact is that Thompson IS (as EV put it) quite bipartisan, he may not be a typical 'country-club Republican', but I'm sure he feels more than comfortable with them.

Remember, Thompson was already active in the GOP as minority counsel for the Watergate Committee in *1974*, and that was long before the Republican Party achieved a true course correction and became the Party of Reagan. In '74, the GOP was a middle-of-the-road, moderately liberal on social issues party, and that was the environment from which Fred Thompson emerged.

Now the snide 'And so it starts' comment is utterly without basis: I made an observation, nothing more, and I reiterated my own support of Duncan Hunter, while pointing out Thompson's more 'middle of the road' views.

So don't get all worked up for no reason, ok?
