Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

Praise the Lord i have not had the time to read this entire thread, or even half of it...the little i have read.. :o(

i hope you are all finished now... in some cases the offenses were genuine, and in other cases you have been acting like children! remember who ALL of you are...created in God's image! i am appalled at the schoolyard garbage some of you have stooped to here...you are letting the spiritual enemy grab hold of you and destroy something that has been VERY good! typical to Satan's tactics, he WILL divide and conquer where he can. you are falling into his plan....his plan to destroy FR. personal attacks are NOT debate. Now -- STOP IT! Grow up! here is the body of Christ, cutting itself to pieces at the glee of Satan...and for those who are not brothers and sisters in Christ, you are being a sad, bad example and have just turned them off to the message of Christ crucified!

::sigh!:: from my heart, i care a great deal about the mission of FR, the family of FR. This world was created full of people who are different for a purpose. To shame, guilt, verbally attack someone for holding a different view than yours (even within the the different denominations) is abhorrant. God has used this place for His work. Stop hindering it, now. Say your apologies, make your amends, shake hands, agree to disagree and move on.

my heart is heavy for those who were good souls here on FR that have left because of this. Lord willing, if things change, they will return!!

With heavy heart, I leave you to your devices.

President Bush isn't perfect. He is doing the best he can under unimaginable attacks both at home and abroad, while dealing with a ruthless and evil enemy who desires the destruction of this nation.

All of us should pray for him every day, like our lives depended on it...for in fact, they do.

Amen.

Jack Welch once talked about legacy - legacy as an employee in a leadership position. If you survive 5 years in the same position you become nothing more than a legacy. Your ideas become stagnant, your value becomes linear. It becomes home, and you walk past the four foot weed every single day without seeing it. Each successful corporate offspring he had adopted the same philosophy and so many of these CFO’s, COO’s, Presidents, and CEO’s sought other pastures with his philosophies to great rewards. He was right, and GE adopted a program to weed out the legacies. It works, I have lived by it. Sounds rude, sounds crude, but to further an objective and goal you must do that as leader from time to time. Let new leaders rise from the shadows.

And what has years of compromise gotten us? I’ve held my considerable nose on plenty of occasions as the GOP dropped a load on the carpet. And just as is the case with an errant dog, swatting them over the nose with a rolled up paper would have been more effective years ago; but, that’s no excuse to put up with crap on the rug. At some point, we have to say “Bad Pubbie! No Chardonnay!” Now is as good a time as any to do this. The GOP’s three “top contenders” are all as bad as the Dems’ reputed top contender. No matter who wins, we all still lose. (And thus have nothing to lose!)

And no, I’m not assuming that you support Giuliani; however, you did mention the idea of saying something nice about him.

I just find ‘em - I don’t use ‘em.

If I did psychoanalyze - it would have to go under ‘doctor/patient confidentiality’.

You wanna be this one?
Though Kung-Fu Masters are powerful Warriors, they generally choose not to fight. Many lesser Warriors delude themselves into thinking that they are masters of war, but few are the genuine article. The true Kung-Fu master fully appreciates his own superiority and is therefore unruffled by petty provocations. When forced to fight, however, he quickly crushes his opponent with devastating blows.

We really need Necromancer
....................alas, it is beyond Necromancer’s skill to fully restore the thread’s original vitality. The hideous apparition may frighten away some of the weaker Warriors or Warriors badly wounded in former battles, but the thread is only a shadow of its former self and very quickly expires.

Those who bash the President are unfeeling and ignorant, and those who refuse to defend him are cowards. President Bush isn't perfect. He is doing the best he can under unimaginable attacks both at home and abroad, while dealing with a ruthless and evil enemy who desires the destruction of this nation.

Well said. If Hillary wins in ‘08, it will be because the countryclubbers at the RNC insisted on running Rudy as the Party’s nominee. It will not be because we refused to go along with their plans.

If Hillary wins it will be because we nominated a RINO or business as usual “mee too” rebublican who failed to carry Ohio.

You see, in 2006 the people voted OUT all those stand for nothing moderates and a few good conservatives went down in the mess with them.

Ohio is the only state in real play for 2008. And a moderate compromising double minded POLITICIAN with an (R) after there name will not win the electoral votes in Ohio.

Only a REAGAN type true principled and articulate conservative has any chance to break the Ohio cycle sooner than 2012.

Ohio, as history shows us, goes Dem every quarter century or so, then they remember how bad the Dems are and they go back GOP for another 25+ years.

Ohio is in a DEM cycle and a squish isn’t going to carry water with the voters in Ohio.

And we all know NO Republican has won without Ohio.

I can’t imagine how the man sleeps at night with the pressure and weight of responsibility on him. Always criticized. No matter what he does, someone isn’t happy and is complaining about and him, not to mention the attacks on his character and calls for impeachment.

I think a lot of people would crack under that pressure.

Well, I suppose on one hand everyone is replaceable. The other side is that every human being is unique, with his own thoughts, feelings, and actions.

No man is an island,
Entire of itself.
Each is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less.
As well as if a promontory were.
As well as if a manner of thine own
Or of thine friend's were.
Each man's death diminishes me,
For I am involved in mankind.
Therefore, send not to know
For whom the bell tolls,
It tolls for thee.

John Donne

One final coment on your infamous post. A gentleman would have said, "I am sorry. I didn't intend to offend anyone."

Instead, you compound your insult by inferring that people who were offended were stupid.

Grateful am I that you aren't in charge of anyone's political campaign. You have no idea how to win friends and influence people.

You Are a White Flower
A white flower tends to represent purity, simple beauty, and modesty.
At times, you are dignified like a magnolia.
And at other times, you represent great ecstasy, like a white orchid.
And more than you wish, you're a little boastful, like a white hydrangea.
What Color Flower Are You?
