Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

Now listen Howlin’s friend, I told you to hold me, because I know you’re here for me...and I mean it.

ROFL--you can surely do better than that feeble attempt to bully me.

Hey, switching gears a bit--what did you think of the Gathering of Eagles? What about the last five CPACs? When was the last time you attended a FReeper event? I don't recall seeing any posts where you discussed your experiences from any of those occasions. Do tell...we want to know about your conservative credentials beyond your keyboard bully tactics.

Yeah, right. As if that was what this is about.

JimRob hasn’t really changed anything. He has moved the forum onto more fertile political ground. Tightened up the exisitng guidelines for posting. Beefed up the basic groundrules. He shook up Free Republic and told everyone what we all should have known, all along. FR is a conservative forum. We advance the conservative agenda, support conservative candidates and defend the Constitution. Nothing new about that. There is no place for liberalism on FR.

What has changed is now some liberal Republicans want to take the GOP in a more leftwing direction and promote one of their own to lead the Party of Reagan. Come on, Rudy is already splitting the GOP apart. The old Reagan coalition of social and fiscal conservatives is showing serious cracks. The Rockefeller Republicans are enjoying every minute of this. I happen to think that standing up for conservatism and opposing liberalism is a good thing.

The people who aren’t here anylonger, left on their own accord or by their own actions. They don’t like Jim highlighting FR as a conservative bastion. From what I’ve seen, just about everyone of the recently departed weren’t conservative anyway. And whining about it does absolutely no good. If you’re uncomfortable with FR, my advice is to move along.

Yes, as uncomfortable as it is for you, his position on slave reparations is exactly what it’s about.

I see you’re using the latest Howlin tactic of “supporting” some other candidate while spending the bulk of your time whining about why rudy isn’t respected by this forum. Standard talking points. You’re just getting ready to freepicide. Best of luck to you.

I don’t know. I do know that I would not support eliminating federal income tax for SOME and not others. Perhaps you could now comment specifically on the point I made in my post to you, which is the one you are responding to in your last comment to me. See #14,250.

LOL! Nope, your pathetic attempt to excuse or explain away his desire to enact slave reparations is all you've got.

Or are you saying he didn't mean it...that it was simply a crass attempt to buy votes and he should be excused?

The only thing he has in common with Al Sharpton is that he is black.

Leave race out of it. We were discussing crooked politicians who pimp slave reparations. You have one right on your profile page. Why not add Sharpton? It could be just like the Clintons... "two for one!"

“..has created an atmosphere of fear..”

Maybe the rabid rudybots are now afraid.. though imo it was that very group that created fear on fr, if you didn’t stay in line... and conservativism wasn’t the line they were walking.

Well, personally, I feel all descendants of those terrible days should be exempt from federal income taxes for a couple generations. In fact, let’s just abolish the entire counterproductive socialist/Marxist income tax thing and go back to what the founders intended. If the government finds it no longer has the wherewithal to fund its unconstitutional behemoth, well that’s just too bad. Shut it down. I’m sure the states and we the people can withstand the shift of responsibility, burden, and renewed Liberty!

Oooh, it doesn’t get any clearer than that.

It’s like the scene in “A Bug’s Life” where one of the bugs is going towards the light saying, “I can’t help it, it’s so beautiful.”

The Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments protect human life against the federal government. It is the Ninth Amendment that says, unalienable rights not enumerated do exist and it is the Tenth Amendment that says these non enumerated rights are best protected by the states.

Are you trying to argue that the Constitution doesn’t protect innocent human life?

No. What part of the above in bold don't you get?
