Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

An amusing notion, but you got it bass-ackwards.

There is no need for ‘special invitation’ threads at FR. If there were they would more likely be for the rudybots so that they could malign, impugn and generally malinger with impunity.

You’ve no doubt noticed that there is a thread hereabouts that speaks to their unremitting and unrepentant proclivity to bash ~n~trash in order to prop their guy up...

"I will respect your wishes and not push a candidate here that you don’t want."

You can push any candidate you wish, as long as he's not a socialist backed NARAL abortionist loving, gay rights supporting, illegal alien supporting, gun grabbing, constitution trampling, individual rights trampling liberal.

And this time, they’ll come over because they can’t stand to be aligned with the Party of Defeat and they’ll come over because they don’t want more confiscatory taxation.

Fighting the last war is always a bad idea.

JimRob for President!

I second the nomination.

And we're all dreaming that there will be a conservative nomination.

I’m one. Also Ultrasonic 007, AuntB, Upsdriver, Antoninus, and lotsa others. The big Kahuna is Duncan Hunter Ambassador, who is no other than Sam Hunter, Duncan’s son. I’m pinging some of the gang for you.

Click on Antoninus’ login name to get to his home page and you can see all of them on The Duncan Hunter Ping List.

I’m hoping that people will feel free to support Duncan now that there is less likelihood of ridicule for supporting a socially conservative candidate who is admittedly a dark horse but he’s the best of the bunch. I can’t speak for them but there have been times when it completely baffled me that I was getting chastised for supporting a socon candidate in a socon forum.

So, you're just playing a smartaleck, stirring up trouble. Yeah boy, you fit the bill. Gotcha.

Btw, after Ford barely won the nomination from Reagan at the 76 Convention, Reagan didn't go all out for Gerald Ford. Remember. After Ford's death they showed several videos of him criticizing Reagan for not campaigning on his part more enough. Even to the point of blaming Reagan for Ford losing. Ridiculous. Ford blaming Reagan was a cheap pot shot.

Never did like Ford. A weakling, too liberal. Not a conservative.

“In any case, I don’t see this purge as a good thing for FR.”

Your a smart guy. So be intellectually honest and call it what it is...it is not a purge or all of the Giuliani supporters would be taken out in a day. It is a freepercide, suicide by opus, kamikaze - label it as you will it doesn’t fit the definitin of a purge.

I wonder if the freepers who are so glad to see the departures have always been at odds with those who are gone, or are just caught up in the fury of the moment.

I have no doubt that there is some of both and that has been the case every time throughout the years.

In any case, I don’t see this purge as a good thing for FR.

Only time will tell.

Except in this case, we're also tearing down part of the chimney's foundation.

Well, Jim doesn't see it that way and neither do a lot of other folk here.

I'm with them. :-)

IMO, that eliminates Giuliani, Romney, McCain, Thompson, Gilmore and Brownback, for starters. Your results may vary.

>>>>If Rudy is the chosen candidate of the Republican party against Hillary Clinton, it is NOT “promoting liberalism and opposing conservatism” to support him.

Rudy and Hillary are both liberals. I won't vote for either one. A vote for Rudy is a vote for liberalism and a vote against conservatism.

>>>>On the other hand, I respect what he’s been able to accomplish...

Crime rates came down in NYC when Rudy was Mayor. He deserves some credit for that. Although not as much credit as he is being given by his supporters. And reducing crime rates doesn't mean Rudy is qualified to be POTUS. Bottom line. Rudy doesn't represent conservatives on the issues that matter most to us.
