We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.
One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to rule over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.
All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.
FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?
Do you really expect me to do that?
Where did Fatima go?
Oh, gee, now you’re the whining victim, eh?
Hahahaha.
She has gone quiet since Wednesday night... See her “User Posts”....:(
No offense intended. Thanks for clarifying. You’re a decent guy.
“What is happening on this thread is nothing.
That has been going on here for years.”
Since the beginning. If anything this one’s more civil than most.
The conservatives are comin’ together here,,,I look for
Vitter(R) to jump parties by 07,,,Katrina Mary(D) is toast.
Bobby Jindal is Pro-Life and will be the next Gov.,,,
The libs are on the run...;0)
Whats outrageous is your obfuscation of Howlins posting history on FR.
Before the 2003 California recall election, I might have agreed with you that Howlin was just being a "tough woman", "opinionated" but not a "bully". OTOH, she was always meanspirited. Believe it or not, there was a time when Howlin and I saw eye to eye on many issues.
That all changed when Arnie Schwarzy entered the 2003 California Recall Eelection. Before Schwarzy decided to run for governor lotsa FReepers seemed to abide by the conservative agenda of Free Republic more often. That all began to change around August 2003 when Schwarzy`s promoters began spreading his liberal RINO politics all over this forum. The short campaign time frame didn't help matters, in everyones rush to judgment about Arnold being some kind of fiscal cosnervative.
In addition, that political event was directly responsible for the significant rise in Rudy Giuliani`s liberal pop culture popularity in the national party politics of the GOP. I'm convinced that election outcome led to the current set of circumstances that exists on FR today, or should I say did exist until JimRob`s recent spring cleaning effort started in earnest. Whereby another liberal Republican, is attempting to undermine the conservative roots of the GOP in an effort to secure its presidential nomination.
Just my opinion. Whether you agree with it or not is not important. I know its true and that is all that matters.
“what do you think Keyes chances are of winning the general election”
I don’t think Keyes is even in, nor has he talked about being in.
I wonder if you have put your finger on the real crux of this thing. Is that what is going on here, is support for Giuliani being used as a lever to rid FR of those who aren't social conservatives? To make this a primarily "social conservative" site? To make a declaration that it isn't conservatism if it isn't social conservatism?
I must talk to my Shreve friend who is in one of those Republican Women clubs....
Things are looking up over yonder. On that note, I’m out and will be back tonight....:)
I just don't want the Religious Right DRIVING AND STEERING 'the bus'...as KAC described it. LOL!
And KAC, you KNOW I'm a big fan.
I'm not looking for you to support a Pro-Choice candidate. I want you to prostitute yourself just enough to ensure a GOP victory in 2008. ;^)
C U Later...;0)
Back when Howard Kaloogian was trying to get Gray Davis impeached in California, Alan Keyes set up a knockoff web site called, IIRC, "Impeach Gray Davis Now." He then solicited contributions in the name of aiding the impeachment effort. Tell me, if you're so smart, how much of the money Keyes collected via that web site went to aiding the impeachment effort, and how much vanished into one or another arm of the Alan Keyes organization? For extra credit, if the answer is that none of the money went to aid the impeachment effort, wouldn't it be fair to characterize the building of a knockoff web site to bamboozle contributors an early instance of the Internet fraud we now call "phishing"? |
I think it is far past time for conservatives to stop listening to the voices of those who are making wholly subjective claims about electibility, and to start at the beginning and choose leaders based on who would do the best job of restoring and defending our republic. Then do what it takes to convince the American people and win. Unlike many, even here, I believe that the conservative message, properly presented, is a winning message. Go take a look at the Reagan electoral map.
I've made it clear on my homepage who I think is the most qualified to the task.
One of the reasons that Republicans are losing is that they are not leading, primarily because most of our "leaders" do not have the courage of their claimed convictions. They're a bunch of wimpy cowards, at best.
And it isn't currently getting any better. Most of what I'm hearing out of this entire presidential cast of characters is pure dreck. Blah.
I’m pleased you like it. Enjoy!
“is support for Giuliani being used as a lever to rid FR of those who aren’t social conservatives? To make this a primarily “social conservative” site? “
No
No
I’m a fiscal conservative. I’m a political conservative.
I’m a social conservative.
You’s a honey....:)
You sure love your hypothetical non sequiturs. Some people call them position traps.
