Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

the site is now drifting into a gray, group-think fog

Oh, puh-leeze. Certain elements on this site who largely joined in time for the lead up to the 2000 primaries (and who were mainly not part of the anti-Clinton roots of the site) have been trying to drag the site leftwards for the last seven years, with some degree of success, largely because of the desire to help Bush in dealing with the Dems post 9-11.

However, many of the same bunch, not having been content to drag a conservative website to the center of the GOP, now demanded that FR keep going leftward to the far liberal reaches of the GOP to support Rudy. And that requires foresaking core values such as pro-life and pro-gun that just are not negotiable.

For that, the Rudy boosters said socons were out of touch, that we were dolts for worrying so much about gun rights, that the president can't do anything about abortion anyway, and that hard-core anti-Clinton activists must want Hillary elected.

They decided to ridicule conservatives and denigrate conservative values - and it blew up in their faces. So they only have themselves to blame.

Certainly, his homepage looks like an opus. Actually it is an opus.

Gumlegs if you enjoy the scientific threads on FR you should consider deleting that opus. But perhaps you just want to be banned so you can cry the conservatives feel the earth is flat etc.

Anyway I mean that advice sincerely. If you don’t care you are on some pretty thin ice. I wouldn’t wait to long.

So, are you in this thread to commit suicide by cop because no one paid any attention to your Opus until now?

That certainly is what you are hoping.

And the whole concept of a fundraising thread combined with a celebration of the departure of people we have known for up to a decade is a little unsettling to me. I think this is a first for FR.

I like FR and think that the reasons are so obvious that they don’t need explaining, we all come here because we want to, and we enjoy it, I come here because of the like minded people I find.

I read your home page and it said that you don’t find like minded people here, and that is why you spend time at that Darwin site. I went to the Darwin site and at least a portion of that is devoted to you guys getting things together for your assaults on FR.

Some of the postings analyze Jim’s fund raising, and discuss how long it will be before FR fails, others just recharge their batteries and renew their energies before they hop back over to here to take on the freepers again.

They even have a forum devoted to their work and success or failures on other forums
http://www.forum.darwincentral.org/viewforum.php?f=13&sid=95e667da85268d8fa8f2881fb5c940f4

It seems to me that that site is the heart of a propagandizing group that then fans out and works on the members of other forums on the internet, such as freerepublic.

Around here, people like that are rapidly becoming extinct, banned for thought-crime.

No, they are banned for using a conservative website to promote a liberal and bash conservative candidates and conservative values.

So tell us - did you object when liberal trolls who did the same in the past were banned and ridiculed?

Or are all liberals equal, but some are more equal than others?

Give us all a break, will ya?

The Rudyphile trolls have been directly and openly threatening Jim's pocketbook for months now, as they mouthed off on the way to the door.

Do you want FR's budget to be hit by the departure of these traitors?

Gumlegs homepage is clearly an opus.

I hope he chooses to stay, but it’s up to him. I doubt if that homepage is going to allow him to stay. It is an opus. Your post to others is misdirected.

I fear that instead of providing a thought-provoking venue for the exchange of ideas that would make us all more informed and better able to express our opinions, the site is now drifting into a gray, group-think fog, where any unauthorized thought is suspicious at best and heresy at worst.

Tell me I'm wrong. Please.

YOU'RE WRONG,

There have been several long-time FReepers who, possibly like yourself, were either never conservative in the first place or somehow digressed into liberalism over time.

I'm sure to many of you it seems as though there is some sort of "group think" here, but that is because genuine conservative principles are foreign to you.

From your postings, it is fairly obvious that you came here at the request of another Darwin Central member who was banned last night for pathetic FReepmails and he had recently been suspended for openly telling this same FReeper to go "F*&# Himself" and before you call me a liar, I was there to witness it and hit the abuse button at the time.

So, why don't you do what your homepage says and go back among your Darwinist cohorts and extoll the virtues of why an unprovable theory is superior to Christianity.

I have children and grandchildren (former embryo's) - you can count me in.

Our way of life, our values and our heritage are being attacked from several front. This election is so very important.

Rudi and Hillery are two peas in a pod.

I will not settle for what the parties give us this year - I will vote my convictions - end of story.

Darwin Central.

And Wideawakes.

The rosters of both places look like a Feee Republic homecoming.

The thing that suprizes me is the many current FReepers who post there.

I will do more than that...I will work like the dickens against the left side of things. Even if we lose, I will have stood up for what matters, did something to get the word out, and say my piece against that dark night they are trying to drag us into.

They're both pathetic.

Darwin Central was started ostensibly for like-minded people to discuss scientific issues. A quick glance at their forum shows that they also run regular anti-FReeper threads.

All that aside, Darwin Central still has a whole lot more integrity than the WideAwakes do. They began as an anti-FReeper site and don't even have the decency to do it in the open. They hide on their closed thread and then have the gall to come in here and deny it.

Since private and publick Vices, are in Reality, though not always apparently, so nearly connected, of how much Importance, how necessary is it, that the utmost Pains be taken by the Publick, to have the Principles of Virtue early inculcated on the Minds even of children, and the moral Sense kept alive, and that the wise institutions of our Ancestors for these great Purposes be encouraged by the Government. For no people will tamely surrender their Liberties, nor can any be easily subdued, when knowledge is diffusd and Virtue is preservd. On the Contrary, when People are universally ignorant, and debauchd in their Manners, they will sink under their own weight without the Aid of foreign Invaders.

Actually, evos and DC members want to be banned because just quitting doesn’t cut it. But being banned can be worn like a badge of honor and they’ll get their little *I’ve been banned from FR* laurel wreath. Then they can have their little shred FR and JR, high five, back slap fest. (Course, they’ll be shredding me in a heartbeat over there as soon as they read this post)

Of course, anyone is free to leave FR any time they want. They don’t have to beg to be banned and then complain when it happens.
