Six men were removed from an airplane at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport Monday evening.
Sources say the men, of Middle Eastern ethnicity, behaved in a manner that caused the crew to be concerned.
The men were taken off the plane after it returned to the gate and are being questioned by authorities.
The remaining passengers were also taken off the flight, U.S. Airways flight 300, bound for Phoenix.
Those passengers are being re-screened for boarding.
There were 170 passengers on board the plane, which is a Boeing 757.

If these fellows were not themselves on Islamic business such as was carried on at WTC back in '01, then it is a pretty good bet they were casing the joint, so to speak.
1.7 billion paynim around the world do NOT stand to say their prayers every day.
"I like to pray before meals even in a restaurant or on a plane. But I do not call attention to myself. "
My point - which wasn't obvious - is that evening prayers were at 6:05 PM for Muslims in Minneapolis. Boarding for the plane would have been 20-30 minutes prior to scheduled takeoff, apparently 4:45 or so. They broke the rules no matter how you look at it.
You can infer from these times that these grandstanding imams had plenty of time to do their ritual on the ground, in the airport, and not to make a spectacle of themselves on the plane. But since they were still on the ground, it appears they were "praying" much earlier than called for under their religion.
None of these times really match up. One can only conclude that this was an act which was intended to cause disruption on the flight.
I'm still wondering how they aligned themselves with Mecca; where they placed their prayer rugs; and how they found the space to get down on their knees and supplicate to Allah. Were they in the restroom area? In the galleys?
None of this makese sense.
They were noting reactions. Their observations will be filed in AQ operations manuals.
I think this is a strategy. It is designed partly to create so many false alarms that after a while nobody takes them seriously, and partly to disrupt travel. We can probably expect a whole slew of these incidents in the next few days during our busiest travel holiday.
Yup.
Yes, in fact they do have ties to him. He was at the Imam get-together they were at here in MN.
Well now, that's very interesting.
Paying attention, there, Rep.-elect Ellison? You haven't even been sworn in yet and the payments come due for the boatload of money CAIR funneled into your campaign. Every america-hating anti-semite in the country will find their way to the Ellison Island Laundromat to be conferred with legitimacy by association.
Only three stood up?? So the others are Allah deficient??
Has there been any followup on what the woman heard?
I freeped that event. Spooky.
Well done. I'm not sure what their goal was, but it does seem Muslims have gotten much more "in your face" since 9/11. It is disturbing and seemingly part of a plan to weaken us.
Exactly what I said back in reply 101. Sadly, it appears we're correct on this. Part of a bigger plan to shame anyone paying attention to them with "cry wolf" labels.
Well, this time the "supposed Middle Easterners" turned out to be Muslim Imams.
It would seem some posters here are a part of that plan.
