Drudge Siren: ALLEN'S REVENGE: EXPOSES RIVAL'S NOVEL WRITINGS; UNDERAGE SEX SCENES

No no no.
If you do not whole heartedly endorse a father fellating his son as good wholesome enlightening entertainment with orgasmic glee, that means you are in the "tongue clucking class."
I think that means you are bad, or something.
You know, with all Imus' faults, he's protective of children, and I don't think he'd find anything funny about that crap.
So are you saying that historical fiction should not try to capture in as vivid a manner possible the realities of time and place? Webb would be doing a DISSERVICE to the genre by watering down/censoring the atrocious behavior that did occur in real life within this temporal framework. Just because it's fiction doesn't mean it has to be unrealistically rosy.
Webb's inclusion of these explicit scenes could just as well be taken as a profoundly negative commentary on them.
Maybe all new fictional works based on 9/11 should not include the Towers being hit and falling down, or the planes being hijacked. Because, you know, that's murder and heartbreak, awful things really.
That's a beauty of a strawman, but I fail to see how the man-on-boy fellatio or the banana slicing are critical to establishing the realities of time and place. It seems more like gratuitous "spicing up" of the prose to keep the reader's attention. At that level, the kinds of "spicing up" selected by the author are highly relevant in judging his character and what's going on in his (sick) mind.
touche.
Yes I do. But Webb is running for office, an exercise in which voters collect information about the candidates and decide who is best suited to represent their values (and their families) in government.
So Lynne Cheney and Scooter Libby were running for which office, specifically?
bttt
I agree - Webb's writing is beyond simple tawdriness - It's downright disturbing
Well you might think it is prude and improper but I expect it might happen. Especially because of her background and especially since she is on the campaign trail.
What I mean by pandoras box is that if Webb is a pervert then by implication so are his readers. Also other readers of fiction that might have read books or authors that have similar scenes. I really don't care about the whole debate about the substance of his books. I am more concerned about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
What's a broken glass Democrat?
Obviously. On WTOP, Webb actually said the homosexual incestual felatio was "not a sex act".
Now, where did we hear that before?
Oh, yeah, "I didn't have sexual relations" etc.
Not Korean.
I didn't say I agreed with the practice (I don't) I merely commented that it offers the biggest BANG for the media buck. Human nature plays a major part. Gossip and mud is a staple of political life. If it weren't all those soap operas my wife so adores would be out of business. Look at the talking heads like Al Franken and Rush Limbaugh. They make their living smearing the other side. Granted, Franken is less truthful and much more vengeful. But they are both successful within their own ideological spectrum.
Webb is on his third marriage. One of the ex-wives came to support him. But no word of the other. Incidentally, according to the Examiner, Webb and the third Mrs. Webb were married when they started seeing each other, though perhaps the divorce proceedings had started.
Actually, you say wadhams, you magnficient bastard(wadhams being allen's campaign manager who most people tout as the next karl rove)
I'm assuming it's based on the term "broken-glass republicans" which as far as I can tell since that was when I first saw it, originated during the time in 2000 when Gore was trying to steal the election. To me, it means you will "crawl across broken glass to vote for your candidate." I'm sure if this is incorrect, numerous FReepers will soon point it out, LOL.
Rove is too busy lining up his lobbying gigs with the Middle East, Mexico and selling US ports to Dubai.
Try again...
Good for him!
Allen is merely exposing the truth.....
As the saying went...
"Give em hell Harry"...Truman's response... "I just tell the truth and they think its hell"
