Rush reports that a Cessna has been reported as crashing into (at least one) apartment complex in NYC Mannhattan's upper east side - on East 71st Street.

What you said is what I first thought also. If this is terrorism, then we really have been kicking their ea***s in Iraq and Afghanistan if the quality of the people they get can only manange to get a small plane, giving up on breaching airport security, and ram it into an apartment building, doing minor damage compared to an airliner, not even being able to find the Empire State or Chrysler byuilding. That's a pretty pathetic terrorist attack. The evidence at this point indicates tragic accident; either the pilot had a heart attack or something, or it was a maintenance problem with the plane.

I surely hope & pray for you that when you get home it is as you left it, and you can blow that smoky smell right back out the window, and that is the WORST you have to deal with.
Which, of course, you need evidence for other than really, really WANTING it to have been a shoe bomber.
There's a trail of some debris beginning back along the flight path in Jamaica Bay, and the very first thing along that is the vertical stab - kind of hard for that to happen unless the shoe bomber climbed out a window, crawled back to the tail, and held his explosive shoe against the vertical stab.
It's also hard for a rational person to view the NTSB as a repeated center of massive, deliberate orchestrated coverup. Basically a bunch of mild-mannered engineers.
If this is a terrorist attack, it's pretty pathetic.
I remember reading shortly after 9/11 how, at least speaking for Al Queada, they like to do things big.
This is more than a tiny step down from 9/11.
