Cong. Billybob's analysis now under discussion!
The Gitmo Prisoners Case:What the Supreme Court Really Did, And How the Press Blew the Story
The ruling should have been a citation of the section of Article III granting the authority for Jurisdiction to Congress; the law removing Jurisdiction on the particular matter from the courts; a citation that the matter in question fell within the description in the law; and a ruling that the court has no Jurisdiction, case dismissed.
Maybe half a page.
...and after the three came a Muslim to whom St. Peter began to ask, "In 1912, a passenger ship sank after hitting an iceberg..." whereupon the muslim interrupted him.
"You obviously do not know the truth about this incident; you presume it was a natural disaster when, in reality, it was the Jews who sank the Titanic."
St. Peter replied, "What? No. It was, in point of fact, an ICEBERG that sank..."
"Yes, yes, yes" interrupted the Muslim again, "An Iceberg, a Goldberg, a Steinberg; same difference."
Yes, I see a difference. Your headlines are jingoistic, dangerous, and biased partisan talking points. Unlike the stalward bastions of truth at the Times who seek only to bring to the light of day what used to skulk underground.
(dripping sarcasm intended)
So far, but the next one is different. Teh next Supreme Court nominee potentially tips the balance to 5-4 our way. The Specter will never allow that, RINO that he is. Arlen has always been a Dimmycrap at heart.
Al Queda rejects being lumped in with the New York Slimes!
Specter is doing everything possible to destroy Rick Santorum.
Thank you for putting it so clearly and succincntly. Oh, the politicians and judges will bow to public pressure and will concoct "a way" or "a procedure" to ensure that these terrorists are safely dealt with, but they'll do it in a manner that seriously damages the Constitution. That is their ultimate goal. These other rationalizations are simply whistling past the graveyard.
HAHAHAHAHAH. That's precious! I'm going to have to modify the joke.
Hearty dittos!
Specter has also pushed through all the appellate justices. He has been marvelous. If you're going to criticize, you have to give credit, too.
It's like DeWine. As much as I hate the guy, he has been one of the most consistent pro-life votes ever in the Senate.
That's why we're still one short. I think we'll get two justices in the next two years, and that will be that.
Really? Such as?
I sincerely hope you're right, but I believe, based on the available evidence, that your optimism is misplaced.
I heard it and was just THRILLED to pieces. :-)
Your piece was great and I was cheering, as Rush kept mentioning your name. :-)
Thanks for the head's up on breaking! I was only able to catch the end of Rush's discussion.
This will drive the FR-hating kooks and clowns 'round the bend. *snicker*
It takes millions of stones, well-dressed and well-placed, to build a nation. Accept the fact that, if you simply keep placing stones, you may, one day, find yourself in the position of placing a critical stone at a stretegicalyl important point in the structure. Though such an event ought not be overly heralded, neither ought it be understated or waved off. It is what it is, and only time will tell what it may become.
For the now, "the workman is due his wage". Therefore, accept it as legitimately earned capital over which you must be a faithful steward. In this way, you will fall neither into false humility nor boastful pride, but will contentedly walk the high and narrow path trod by that one who understands that what he has received is neither more nor less than he is due.
