The FNS panel is now talking about this. Apparently, the President lost confidence in Goss a while ago.

I guess it's hard to build morale and clean house.

Negroponte apparently had a significant role in Goss' departure.

Bill Kristol just said we should expect the CIA to become a mini state department. Everyone being fat and happy.

Free Republic was a poll where 13% of FReepers wanted to see the dems win

Must be the same 13% that wants to see GM, an American company go down the tubes

Very interesting, SC. Add this too.

PowerLine want Gen. Michael V. Hayden for CIA.

Great! Hardly anything would give the Republican faithful a bigger boost than the spectacle of Senate Democrats attacking an Air Force general for trying to protect America against terrorism. Please, Democrats, please don't deny us this opportunity. And could we possibly schedule the hearing closer to November?

Liberal Media attack already started.

"Wallace just said that Goss' resignation was "apparently forced". I've been out of the loop, is this true?"

####

This is the ritual "I can't stand Kristol" comment. He just said that Porter Goss was fired. I ask how does Kristol know this?

If 'conservatives' stay home and do not vote (or vote third part - which is a vote for the dims), we may ALL rot in someplace warm.

Thanks Morgan. I'm thinking I may not stay too long today - - just listening to bits and pieces of Pelosi has already gotten my BP up and I wanted my b'day to be calm and fun.
I'm not sure my BP or stomach can handle Plugs today, too.

Well you'd have to assume that the majority would vote for a minority mmeber to become the speaker. We have no prime minister, so our speaker is somewhat like the prime minister, but without the head of government role. It would be very unlikely that the majority party would give this job to someone not their own.

In Kennedy's case, his treatment for addiction appears to be a political move to get the criminal behavior excused. In order to solve an addiction problem, you have to want to solve the problem. I hope Kennedy is sincere in wanting to control his problem, but I have my doubts.

2. Goss didn't like the fact that N was taking over some of the duties, including daily briefings w the Pres that Goss used to have.

Probably that.... -And the thing w/ the Hookers ;>

Who killed Krystol's dog? He seems to be taking this Goss thing personally.

Kristol sound angry to me. Kristol said that Goss did what he was charged to do and his reward was to get the boot.

"I'm sitting here wondering just when Arlen Specter became the most important man in the world."

Ditto.

My translation of Fox News Sunday:

Arlen: Blahblahblahblah. [thinks: I'm going to keep being a pain in GWB's Presidential butt until he realizes once and for all that he shouldn't make ANY move in this Government without getting my approval!]
Smilin' Joe: Blahblahblahblah. [thinks: I'm gonna save Iraq! Not George Bush! ME!]
Arlen: [thinks: Good grief, Smilin' Joe, where'd you steal THAT idea from, heh, heh, heh.]
Smillin' Joe: [thinks: Whew. At least you don't look like Nosferatu anymore, Arlen. Say, do you think we can get them to pick up the tab for driving us to the studio this morning?]
Chris Wallace: So, Gentlemen, you all agree that the world is a shambles, and George W. Bush is at fault, am I correct?
Arlen: Unless I'm permitted to run things - and, yes, Chris, I had BETTER be on that committee...
Smilin' Joe: Ha. You can run things, but I'M gonna be the policy maker. That'll get me in the history books! So there!
Chris: Well, there's another fair and balanced debate, and remember you saw it right here on the Fox News Channel...

Rove's gotta be smacking himself upside his own head wondering what the heck he was thinking ;-)

Karl Rove understood the political realities of Pennsylvania. He needs to spend more time on FR so he can learn how to blow smoke up peoples butts.

New democrats are not being made.

And that is the key. Notwithstanding dissatisfaction with this or that on the Republican side, we are not going to put these dems in power. I care too much for this country.

Didn't McKinney use that same ploy. She was rushing to vote?

Evidently that excuse is planned in the event of any situation that might lead to further investigation.

Probably because 'his sources' in the White House that he is always harping on about did not give him the heads up on this.

I suspect now Tony Snow is Press Secretary Krystol will get less and less info. Snow knows what Krystol is like and hopefully will ensure he does not get info that he should not.

Krystol probably knows this and realises that this could affect him professionally.

My take from Friday. Forgive the rerun. Will elaborate later today. Mrs. GBC needs shutters put up and pictures hung and bookcases spray painted and...

I remain of the opinion that these leak investigations are about to touch members of Congress and other politically active individuals. It is imperative that the CIA be seen as being run by an apolitical manager.

In addition, in Hayden you are talking about a career analyst. IMO, the problem with the CIA hasn't been the data gathering, it is what happened when the data hit people like Mary McCarthy. The documents being translated by folks like Jveritas are beginning to validate the raw data and assessments made by Bush's team. It is disturbing that career analysts did not think the web of relationships constituted actionable intel. Problem methodology or people? I think that question will be asked early and often. If you think there was weeping, moaning and gnashing of teeth with Goss, you ain't seen nothing yet.

It was a bit difficult filing for my Friend 81 year old,but she will get Generic RX's for only $6.00, the other RX's that cannot be filled with the generic will cost her about $56.00,but those are few and far between. She is very happy and relieved. Most of the regular Rx's today do not have the Patent protection so other Drug Manufacturer's get in on it and make it cheaper.
