I remain of the opinion that these leak investigations are about to touch members of Congress and other politically active individuals. It is imperative that the CIA be seen as being run by an apolitical manager.
In addition, in Hayden you are talking about a career analyst. IMO, the problem with the CIA hasn't been the data gathering, it is what happened when the data hit people like Mary McCarthy. The documents being translated by folks like Jveritas are beginning to validate the raw data and assessments made by Bush's team. It is disturbing that career analysts did not think the web of relationships constituted actionable intel. Problem methodology or people? I think that question will be asked early and often. If you think there was weeping, moaning and gnashing of teeth with Goss, you ain't seen nothing yet.

Great points GBC! Good luck w your honey-do list ;-)
One thing I did read or hear was that Negropointe kept refusing (or dragging his feet) to release the tapes and the Prez kept pushing it and they were finally released. Do you know anything about that? If true, I'm a bit uncomfortable that N didn't want the tapes released earlier and it required several asks and demands by Bush before they were finally released.
