It is now getting dark in Paris and in all of France(appx. 6:40 PM Paris Time), and if there are any French FR lurkers(lurquers), this may be the thread to post your reports about any further violence.

It seems the French govt. is impotent in it's response to what seems are jihadist thugs and it seems the American media has put a news blackout filter to what is really happening, so as not to embarass their heroes, Chirac et al.

So any news reports or personal reports from what happens tonight are welcome, and don't worry about broken English, reports in French are welcome also, I have no doubt someone can translate.

I really dread putting up a live thread about such a matter, but it seems that the American MSM is following French govt. orders to play down to what it seems is an insurrection.

Good point. I've come to expect FReepers to be quite intelligent and hope they'll come to their senses about the french-bashing. In spite of their current government, we have had a couple hundred years of good relations. And, we can be pretty happy that Clinton didn't ruin it for the rest of us, even though he was President for 8 years.

I feel pretty bad for the innocent citizens of France.

The Euro political "leaders" think they can take foreign money and make compromises that favor ME nations and still get rich without damaging Europe to a significant extent. Europeans tend to be negotiators and compromisers more than we Americans who are much more willing to stand on Judaeo-Christian principles and not compromise those principles.

I don't think it's a question of what they gain, but what they hope to avoid. They're afraid of the Muslims, and they hope if they make pee pee in their pants they won't have to feel any pain, in my opinion.
