It is now getting dark in Paris and in all of France(appx. 6:40 PM Paris Time), and if there are any French FR lurkers(lurquers), this may be the thread to post your reports about any further violence.
It seems the French govt. is impotent in it's response to what seems are jihadist thugs and it seems the American media has put a news blackout filter to what is really happening, so as not to embarass their heroes, Chirac et al.
So any news reports or personal reports from what happens tonight are welcome, and don't worry about broken English, reports in French are welcome also, I have no doubt someone can translate.
I really dread putting up a live thread about such a matter, but it seems that the American MSM is following French govt. orders to play down to what it seems is an insurrection.
I just read #496 and it looks like France has a long way to go before they realize they're in more trouble than they know.
That has to be a case of french pathological denial. One car being deliberately torched in LA or NYC would be big news.

Just damn. I thought Spain had picked up the mantle of Vichy when they capitulated in 2003. If Sarkozy quits or is fired, they will have jerked it right back from Spains socialists..
He was on a thread (I'll try to link to it) stating emphatically that these riots have absolutely nothing to do with Islam whatsoever, it's just institutionalized racism, poverty, and unemployment. He said (you can click the link below) that the non-integration was part of the problem. Actually some of his comments made some sense, but it did seem he was ignoring the simple fact that virtually all the perps just happen to be Muslim... He said that keeping the (muslim) immigrants segregated in enclaves was part of the problem. But I read that the (muslim) immigrants liked to be all together in clumps and did not want to be integrated with the rest of the French population.
Vicomte, what do you think? Are you in France now? The more I read, the more it seems as though Islamism does have something to do with this violence.

Undoubtedly, you are having people join in who just want to destroy something. Until they break out the lethal force, I don't seen this ending any time soon. It's gotten worse from every night to the next night! It hasn't peaked yet! Although, eventually, they are bound to run out of vehicles to torch...

I had to laugh. I was expecting a prolonged, in depth coverage of the situation with lots of footage. Instead, there was exactly five minutes and then the anchor switched topic to guess what?

Can someone tell me how they are going to stop this? They don't seem capable of getting this under control. Will the youths just get tired of burning cars and quit or will they be emboldened to move on to the Louvre or the Eiffel Tower with a flame thrower.
They are pretty much all of the view that the rioters are thugs, and that the French need to crack down.
There are quite a few pointing to the failure of multiculturalism, as well.

The likeness of Islam and Kuffar is like that o f fresh clear spring water and water brought up from the bottom of a suburban sewer. If even a drop of the filthy water enters the clear water, the clarity diminishes. Likewise it only takes a drop of the filth of disbelief to contaminate Islam in the West. If we have it within our means we should therefore consider moving to a Muslim lan d whereby we can at least live amongst our brethren and within an Islamic society free from the contamination of the disbelievers.

I live in Oklahoma City, a place that knows the tragedy of domestic terrorism. To my French brothers I promise this: I will stop at nothing to make sure that the United Nations condemns this kind of behavior. No matter how long it takes I will support any resolution that condemns this in the strongest possible terms! I am a friend of the French and will stand with them in the same way they have shown their support and commitment to the American People.

Even if the report from AFP of the use of a Flame Thrower in central Paris is true ( which we can't take for granted from media types ) , it would not surprise me to see it disappear tomorrow.
This is the sort of thing that could get under people's skin.
