Per Fox News...
Oh no. He will be just fine.
Well, over the weekend, Senator Reid demanded an apology from Bush for Libby. Then demanded that Rove resign or be fired. And he followed that up with a stern warning to President Bush NOT to appoint Samuel Alito to the SCOTUS. Apparently, Reid thought that he now had the political power to call the shots. Bush answered Reid's demands by nominating Alito. This looks to me like an "up yours" statement. Just my opinion.

Isn't that the truth. One thing, as I just posted on another thread, I have learned in the last month or so is that the self appointed real conservatives have no sense of politics. They can't effectively analyze victory or defeat. It's highly amusing to see the likes of Coulter taking credit for Miers' demise...when will she stand up and take responsibility for the long list of failures we both know have been assigned to the President?
They are trying to force President Bush not to pick her by saying that the fight will b e worse. At the end of the day, once JRB is nominated, they wouldn't go after her any harder than Alito. In fact, they'd have less to go after her with, and it would have less impact on the public. Once nominated, Brown would be confirmed more easily than Alito. They're only hope was to scare the president into not nominating her.
It appears as if the DUmmies have gotten the jump on us normal, rational, thinking citizens.
:_)
"In his dissent in United States V Rybar Alito argues, in his dissent, that the federal government oversteps it's bounds by using the commerce clause to ban possession of machine guns intrastate."
Excellent info! I find it very encouraging that he understands the limits of the Commerce Clause!
LMAO!
Man, I am so busted. I gotta stop FReeping at work . . .
You're right and I shouldn't hide my hard right far right extreme right status.
Just once, though, I'd like to hear Blitzer say "hard left-wingers are attempting to impose their abortion litmus test".Or hear Stephanopoulous say "the extreme left wing erupted in anger at the president's choice".
Why do you always insist putting words into someone's mouth and then call them a liar?
If you would actually READ my post for once, you would have noticed that I said that the husband of a female president should hold their tongue as well. Of course you missed that.
Saying that an action is inappropriate is not the same as saying that they have no right to take the action.
In her current situation, Laura Bush cannot separate herself from Laura Bush, the First Lady. When she speaks, there are consequences so she should be extra careful. In most cases, it's just inappropriate.
Please quote to me where I said that Laura Bush should be denied her rights.
Good afternoon, Your Honor, Sir.
I think Samuel Alito is the closest POTUS could find to you! :)

You're right, of course. I had forgotten he
announced early on this year that he was not going
to invest any more of his own monies into another
campaign.
NTL, his seat is up for grabs next year an
one of several that both parties will be fiercely
contesting.
C'mon, y'all!
I heard over the weekend that Alito would be on board for Alilto and I figured it was wishful thinking until now.
Schumer is having a meltdown today which makes me extremely happy!
NO, that won't happen!.. don't' dream :)
The LEFT is what they are... what's amazing is that they fooled us for so many years!!(or thought so), into making us believe there were "unbiased".... today, the NEW YORK TIMES... at the rate they are going... will soon be just another Lefty rag... losing credibility month by month :).
I believe - at this very moment - we are experiencing a transcendental shift in media power. The NEW MEDIA, our media :) - It's becoming more main stream every day. I find myself clickin less and less on Cnn (onlne or tv), or Ustoday online...no more
Snail Mail is not a good idea -- FAX is a much better idea. It takes forever to get a letter into the Congressional offices since the anthrax scare. Better to send it locally or FAX to DC
What gives? This wording could be read two ways, i.e. it initially reads as if someone has 'hacked' freepers ...
From RNC Email:
SEN. ARLEN SPECTER (R-PA) ON
JUDGE SAMUEL A. ALITO, JR.
Sen. Arlen Specter (R-PA): "I've known Judge Alito through the better part of two decades. He sits on the Court Of Appeals for the Third Circuit, which includes my state of Pennsylvania. He brings to this nomination a very distinguished record: was in the Solicitor General's Office, was U.S. Attorney for New Jersey. He has been on the federal bench now for 15 years. We are in the process of assembling his opinions. It is estimated that he has been involved in about 3,500 cases, has some 300 opinions which he has written. So that we have a very good idea as to his approach to jurisprudence." (Sen. Arlen Specter, Press Conference, 10/31/05)
I know from the inside that we have a quote from kennedy and specter saying good things about him.
