Ann Coulter just took apart President Bush's SCOTUS nominee on the air during her appearance on the Mike Rosen show here in Denver on 850am KOA. She called for listeners to write their senators to oppose the nomination. Wish you could have heard it!
Ann said - "Totally unqualified", called Judge Roberts "a 'dream' candidate in light of this nomination", mentioned "cronyism" over and over. Much more that I'm trying to digest. I called the station to see if they saved the audio, but no luck on that. Mike Rosen was just about speechless as Ann went on and on about why this was a lousy choice.
I agree with Ann. Huge mistake and missed opportunity.
Ann's choice, Janice Rodgers-Brown. Not enough intestinal fortitude in the White House to go with that choice.
Can't wait for Ann's column on this nomination later this week.
Your error is your premise. His nomination is due to having a principled stand he has not wavered from, not to please dems or "RINOS".
How do you know she's not in the Scalia or Thomas mold? President Bush seems to think she is.
Are there people here who suggested that Ann Coulter should have appointed in lieu of Harriet Miers?
Ann who?
Anybody have Ann Coulter's email address? I need to have her look into Radiation Countermeasures and Dr. Anthony Fauci. Thanks in advance.
LOLLOL!
I needed a day to consider this pick, my first instinct being one of disappointment. Upon waking this morning, after reading considerably last night, I came to the realization President Bush had made a big mistake with a LOUSY pick and missed a great moment of opportunity in history.
BTW, this time, unlike with Roberts, who looked better as each day passed, Miers looks worse the more and closer we examine her.
Ann's comments, though more negative and less measured than other pundits and talking heads, are much more in agreement with them this time, than when Roberts was announced. She is correct to mention, as she did on Hannity, there are many female candidates for the Supreme Court with far better qualifications and credentials than Harriet Miers.
Whatever, be as "cute" as you want, the fact still remains that krystol and levin were both on the same page yesterday(i.e "Bush flinched")
Who said he did??
Look .. I wish he picked Janice Rogers Brown
Am I disappointed???
Yes ... but that doesn't mean I am going to just throw his pick out the window because I don't know much about her
I would like to learn more about her and her thinking
Why is it so wrong to want to know more information about this nomination before making a judgment one way or another ???
I don't get that
Haven't seen that. I have seen someone touting her as an "expert" in Constitutional law, which is, frankly, a bad joke. Coulter is a polemicist, occasionally even a good one, but a legal expert or Constitutional law expert, she is not.
He may think so, but he ain't gonna tell you why because if he does he's either going to PO the conservatives or the liberals.
Did you KNOW she didn't want it? Your guilty of making assumptions that she wasn't interested, yet I have a pretty damn good idea since she didn't withdraw her name from consideration like Pricilla Owens did! As far as democraps trashing her; it would be done at their own political as well as intellectual risk. Janice is one not to be trifled with!
Hope you weren't gypped out of the diploma.
And they were both right. Besides, both men are independent thinkers capable of their own brilliance. They don't need to steal one another's thoughts.
Okey doke, got you on record as saying mccain supporter bill krystol as "brilliant".
"I think much of the criticism of Ann comes from placing loyalty to the President..."
There is 300 million people in the United State. We all have different opinions and life lessons which shape us. I like the President. His ideology and his accomplishment fit me very well.
It's to bad we all can't have our own individual president who will always cater to our individual needs, but life isn't fair.
I will always put my loyalty to my President (voted for twice) before any political shrill.
Ann continues to blast against this nominee without any facts other then she doesn't know anything about the nominee. My advise to Ann and you is to learn something good or bad before giving a ignorant opinion.
:) Ah but standards are different for conservatives. We have to be twice as smart to be considered half as dumb.
