From Staff Reports
NORMAN -- An explosion near the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord Family-Memorial Stadium killed one person Saturday, OU officials said.

The explosion happened at the courtyard near the George Lynn Cross Hall, Botany-Microbiology Building on OU's campus, which is west of the stadium, according to Sgt. Gary Robinson of the University police department.

The explosion happened during the second quarter of Oklahoma's game against Kansas State.

After the explosion, police set up a perimeter of several blocks and made fans exit the stadium to the east.

We heard that west parking garage was shut down for awhile and people were not going to be let go until around midnight. Glad you heard from her!

No Geraldo isn't live. In fact, no one is live at this time of night. There's your "blackout". Everyone's in bed.

They can always do DNA testing to identify the person killed. One good thing about the advancements of DNA is that you can tell who the parents are -- pretty much -- or have a ball park figure -- in terms of ethnic heritage.

So even if this is a foreign student, they probably can identify the country of origin and... Well, the rest is classified...

I find it interesting that cell phones around you wouldn't work for a specific time.

I would speculate if there were three individuals with bombs, that they were positioning themselves to detonate the bombs when the crowds left the stadium. In Israel suicide bombers sometimes looked to work crowded streets at night. In this case whatever their plans were, were frustrated when a bomb detonated prematurely.

I don't know, but this dumb title "1 person found dead after loud boom at Oklahoma University" is just too much for my little mind to handle at this hour.

The new spin on the story from the liberal media now is to drop the word bomb from the headline. Only loud explosion and possibly a suicide. The word "bomb" is now being censored from current reports.

"...the mantra being "Bush cannot protect us at home" - it plays right into their cries of "iraq war distracts from the war on terror at home".

...and then add:..." so this means he HAS to pick a liberal judge to replace Sandra Day O'Connor on the SCOTUS..."....

....(sarcasm off thingee goes in this spot, although I would be surprised if I heard it from the MSM....)

That building is directly across from the stadium -- like we walk by there going and coming from EVERY football game -- cross the street and you are within yards of the stadium entrance.

That is not my sentence.

My actual statement, "Why would they censor an actual suicide bombing, if related to Islamic terrorists, and resist the urge to pile on Bush and Iraq?".

I am not speaking of downplaying it in the short term. Folks are insinuating the MSM would willingly engage in a coverup long term and I don't buy it. Bush hatred is too great to not try to spin it, sympathies to terrorists aside.

What are they considering the "traffic circle" in these media reports? By Cross Hall? Do they just mean the South Oval/VanVleet Oval or something else? I can't picture it.

"Blast" and "explosion" are being used instead.

"I don't want to see a specific religion banned in this country. The prohibition of Islam would involve a change in our Constitution. Sorry, I don't want to go there."

Many would argue that modern day Islam is more of a military organization than a religion. In that case a change to the Constitution may be in order.

No need to amend the Constitution. Just have the Attorney General declare Islam a criminal organization and apply all applicable RICO statutes.

I'm sure the authorities have dealt with fake religions before.
