Rita Damage to SW Louisiana worse than being reported
Lake Charles.com Photos ^ | September 25, 2005

The damage that has hit SW Louisiana and SE Texas is much worse than is being reported by the MSM. While there is very little in the way of a body count, houses and businesses by the hundreds have been destroyed. Entire communities in Cameron Parish have more than likely been erased from the map.

Here is link for some images from SW LA. You'll have to scroll down.

Wow. That is awful. Looks like the town was contructed during low tide, and then the tide came in.

RELIEF AS HURRICANE FAILS TO CAUSE DEVASTATION

Maybe he is referring to human loss of life?

There's about 13 to 14 in that herd worth about $800 a piece = $11,200.00 total

They are drinking that water too. With the oil rigs offshore, the flooded out gas stations, power plants, plus seawater mixed in, those cattle are going to have more serious problems than hoof rot.

Here's a picture of the Inn on the Bayou meeting Contraband Bayou. Maybe somebody who knows how can size this picture a little bigger.

On TWC, they just showed a report by some reporterette from ABC. She was reporting from Beaumont, showing just regular damage. She said Rita was far less destructive than Katrina. God, I hate these liars. They just show what they want to show, make false blanket statements like that, and the sheeple get a totally distorted impression of what really happened.

Yep. Lake Charles. Notice that the bayou appears to be into the first floor rooms. We've stayed there many times in our trips to LC. That is, until they got new management and wouldn't let us bring our dogs.

Go here (Holly Beach, LA shot) to see where stilts or no stilts was pretty much irrelevant.
Right - engineering has its limits but see my stilt pic in #135 and pick out the house you'd rather have been on a slab vs. stilts? ;-) Some of the newer construction around the gulf is 15' above mean high tide or more. The way they sink the pilings and tie everything together is impressive.

I found this "before" picture of Holly Beach. I'm not smart on posting pics here yet, so maybe someone who knows how can do it. The "before" and "after" pics are unbelievable. Here's the link: http://www.earthchangestv.com/2001_secure/Breaking_News/0530rising_tide_files/louisiana.jpg

Thanks a million, backhoe. I'll figure out how to post pics sooner or later.

There's a really simple way to do it without bothering with HTML if you have Outlook Express on your machine, and it works for links, too.

Create a new email- poke the "tools" then "view" tabs, and enable "source edit."

Keeping your email open, go to whatever you need to post here, hilight, copy & paste into the new email.

At the bottom of your email is a three tab bar- hit "source," and the HTML normally hidden will be revealed-- simply hilight, copy & paste that here.

It works about 90% of the time-- always preview, sometimes you have to edit the source manually, but usually it works without that- just check to be sure.

Works on other HTML forums, too.

Gotta run & start bedding down the house ( wife & dog are giving me dirty looks... ) but give it a try- it takes the hassle out of trying to hand-code stuff.
