The Dem playbook
The Hill newspaper gives us a peek at the Democratic playbook for the Roberts hearings. Below are the attack assignments for the Democratic members of the Committee:
Kennedy -- civil rights
Leahy -- Bybee torture memo
Biden -- privacy, personal autonomyand the 9th Amendment
Kohl -- Property rights and civil liberties
Feinstein -- "judicial activism" and Roe vs. Wade
Feingold -- limits of executive powers
Schumer and Durbin have wisely refused to show their hand.

You're right ... I don't think anything is as certain in this business as that Roberts will be the next CJ.
My real interest right now is WHO is going to be tapped on the following Tuesday by the President to be the next to run this gauntlet.
Dinner at 6:30M
Oh my God, Schumer before dinner. This is going to be bad, very bad.In ten minutes Chucked referred to himself over 40 times. Can you imagine how many times he will refer to himself in a 1/2 hour???
What an ASSCLOWN.
Next thru the gauntlet?
If there is a God, thenn it will be Janice Rogers Brown!
A Black Female Scalia...
Teddy will have a stroke for sure!
Most excellent limerick!
FOFL .. I don't think Biden liked that answer
What was the question?
Me too. You know the democrats are worried, because they want POTUS to ask Sandra to serve another year...lol.
I'm thinking he'll nominate a woman... maybe a black woman...Janice Rogers Brown? I doubt it'll be her, but she'd be perfect :)
In other words, Biden is prone to plagiarizing at great length. He is a man of many words -- other people's words that is.
40 in 10 minutes means 120 in 30 mins...
Before dinner in DC is after lunch in Cal. I want to keep mine down!
Judge Roberts is teaching me a lot. Not just the law either.
OY I just got offered a job, do I claim 0 or 1, I forget? HELP

"There are 18 senatores in the room"
And the final vote count will go down 10-8 exactly on party lines. Soooo predictable.
---------------------------------------------------------
I hope I'm wrong.
Yet, you seemingly ignore the advice and consultation of those who have worked very closely with Roberts and VOUCH for his traditional stance on the law. Go talk to Hugh Hewitt who worked with Roberts. Go talk to anyone who worked in a legal capacity with Roberts. They all say the same thing - that he is a supporter of the strict interpretation of the Constitution.
The level of virulence of those on the conservative side who are fighting the Roberts nomination makes me wonder what the REAL agenda is - because it certainly isn't trying to clean up the role and direction of the USSC.
Schumer has said that he might
Approve a justice who's AIR-EE-YOO-DITE*.
There's only one clinker
In this plan of Chuck Stinker --
The candidate mustn't lean right.
*Schumer's preferred MISpronunciation of erudite.
A nominee better be lucky,
And get approval from close-minded Chucky,
His vehemence floors us
-- He's a one-man Greek chorus --
Whose vision for America's yucky.
I bet that the only questions he asks Roberts will be Yes or No answers. If he asks three questions that will give him 29 minutes to spout.
He's running for President...no way..
Frankly I've claimed 4 as I like eating before April 15th rolls around. Seriously, claim 0 is you'd like a bigger windfall in April.
married or single regarding your OY?
That's why I think he might. They have to know that we are not all crazy out here.
If Joe, Teddy, Leaky, and Chuckie were rated like hurricanes, they'd all be CAT5s.
She has reason to despise those people. Their hands were in on that "investigation" of her children's adoption.
