The situation in New Orleans continues to deteriorate due to rising water levels and desperation. Search and rescue continues via boat and air. Authorities have announced the goal to evacuate all the remaining residents of NOLA. The New Orleans Mayor has reported numerous gas leaks throughout the city. Sporadic fires occurring. Attempts to evacuate hundreds of hospital patients from Charity Hospital and Tulane Medical Center are in process. Patients are being transported to other hospitals as far away as Florida.
The Army Corps of Engineers is at the NOLA levee breaks with current plans to drop 3000 lb sand bags in an effort to stop the flow of water. NOLA hospital evacuations continue for thousands of patients. Reports indicate all evacuees are being taken to the SuperDome, which is now surrounded by water. The generators at the Dome are now in jeopardy. The Governor of Louisiana has called for a day of prayer tomorrow...
Elsewhere, search and rescue continue in Mississippi and Alabama. Biloxi reports indicate catastrophic damage.

Tropical Storm 12
Unfortunately, I don't know enough about Slidell geography to know exactly where they were. They were either on the lake or the bay, I'm not sure - it was waterfront, so I'm a bit concerned. Hope they're out.
Not good enough Cedar. Not good enough. And if the best of her abilities is to go on CNN and call for prayer, that is about the lamest thing I ever saw. I suspect she is not running anything at this point. I don't know who is. And I want to know who is taking rescued people to the Dome all day.
There is a waterway which connects it to the gulf though.
Thank God.
Caught red-handed, shamelessly filling up a cart with Walmart shoes.
What an example for the rest of the looters. Did you notice that no one was paying any mind to the officers at all? Something tells me that is what their community is used to seeing.
Absolutely shameless.
my in-laws are in Lamar Co., Oak Grove just outside of Hattiesburg. No confirmed deaths or serious injures.
No power for two weeks, no water, no working gas stations in Hattiesburg/Oak Grove.
Trees down everywhere, it's amazing no one was hurt with the number of houses that had trees fall on them.
Quite simply, he is a simpleton; Aaron Brown asked him about the people outside NO wandering aroudn with nowhere to go and he said something like "they should go to high ground" and somebody will come to pick them up."
Cooper was gagging and getting sick because there were a dozen containers of frozen chicken from the Casino melting and rotting in the heat nearby.
Remember, AC is the son of a billionairess, and not used to such things as foul-smelling chicken and germ-laden water around him.
Hope he brought plenty of Handi-Wipes!
Disgusting!
What's wrong with these people?? Haven't they thought about churches, schools, colleges, etc. etc. An elementary student could come up with a solution.
I hope every state in the U.S. takes a good look at this disaster and learns a HUGE lesson.
The place will descend into chaos. I would not want to be in that building.
Mandatory evacuation was not given until Sunday morning.
At that point it won't be evacuation. It'll be recovery.
A sh*thole, for sure, but the matters of water and food can be handled directly. The matter of toilets is less tractable, but likewise can be managed.
It's probably unbelievably awful in there right now, but it's not fatal.
Are you listening to this fool Mayor from NO on CNN ??
He thinks it will be 4 weeks till they can start getting NO back to NO
He is a FOOL!
Huh? I thought just an hour ago the Mayor said people would be in the Super Dome for another week??
WooHoo,Thank you Lord:)
