The Heart of Texas Chapter of FreeRepublic.com is holding a rally in Crawford, Texas today to show America's support for our troops, President Bush and the war on terrorists in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere around the world.
The rally will be held at noon at the Crawford Civic Center at 1000 4th Street.
Freepers are coming from near and far to join the H.O.T. Chapter in Crawford. If you live within four hours drive of Crawford, it's not too late to hit the road and get on down there.
Folks in attendance will be calling in to me, Brad's Gramma and Jeff Head with live updates from the scene. I am told that cellphone coverage in Crawford is spotty. However, it may have gotten better of late.
We'll see.
Hat's off to Basil, Doctor Raoul, The Sarce and 2ndAmendmentMama (and anyone else) who've been scrambling the past two days to make this happen. Good luck!

Always remember that.......
It is the SOLDIER, not the preacher, who has given us freedom of religion. It is the SOLDIER, not the courts who has given us the right to keep and bear arms It is the SOLDIER, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the SOLDIER, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the SOLDIER, not the campus organizer, who has given us freedom to assemble. It is the SOLDIER, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. It is the SOLDIER, not the politician, who has given us the right to vote. It is the SOLDIER, who salutes the Flag, and serves under the flag.
God Bless our Troops, their families ,our President and the USA,the land that I love.

"Manners" guy claimed to be a veteran Well if he is, he's a J-efn-Kerry type of veteran I'd bet.

He made no mention of a swift boat, but did remind me of Dennis Hopper, Dude.

OK maybe I can post better pictures now - here's experimenting.....
I'll go for two. I asked permission of this guy to take his picture. He was alone and back by a fence for a very long time.

CNTTXAN just called and indicated that an individual who is with the 1st CAV just spoke and really had the crowd going. He was in the first Gulf War and just got back from another tour to Iraq with IraqiFreedom. His third BTW. The middle one was voluntary and he only a month or two on each side of it at home.
He talked of how grateful and brave the Iraqi people were. He also talked of how moved the soldiers were when the Iraqis waved their "purple fingers" at them.
He told of one man who would come to the wire and ask for him, since he spoke some Arabic. The man would bring produce from his farm for our troops. One day he reported an IED being buried on the road the troops used regularly. The troops couldn't find it, so the man mounted up with them in a Humvee, right in front of all the neighbors, and went out and showed them were it was. He later got a night visit, but fortunately it was only a "warning"... this time anyway.

I see. Well, you're right about her being a "cafeteria" type of Catholic.

Thanks for the ping to this great thread!
I was getting really depressed over the 'canonization' of Cindy Sheehan by the MSM!
So glad to hear about this Rally!
Many thanks to all who participated......Hope this effort will continue!

I think there are different versions out there.
I just thought it would be fitting to post it so that FReepers who might not have head of it can read it for themselves.:)
