MCMINNVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A former physical education teacher charged with having sex with a 13-year-old boy who attended the school where she worked agreed to a nine-month jail sentence in a plea deal Thursday and was immediately locked up.
Pamela Rogers Turner, 28, entered a no contest plea that allowed her to avoid a scheduled November trial on multiple charges of having sexual intercourse and oral sex with the teenager during a three-month relationship that started in November.
A court clerk said the nine months in jail is part of an eight-year sentence for the former homecoming queen previously described by the sheriff as "absolutely gorgeous."
Judge Bart Stanley accepted her plea and said the jail time would be followed by supervised probation. He also directed Turner to surrender her teaching certificate.
The mother of the teenager previously described Turner as a family friend and said she hoped there would not be a trial. District Attorney Dale Potter said Thursday that was part of the reason for the agreement.
Turner was arrested in February and freed on a $50,000 bond after investigators said they discovered the relationship. Potter has said Turner lived at the boy's house "for a brief period of time when she was moving from residence to residence" while she and her husband were divorcing.
Before resigning, Turner taught physical education and coached girls basketball two years at Centertown Elementary, a Warren County school for grades kindergarten through eight.
Ever realize that when you were told or told your children to be weary of "strangers" or someone who seemed likely take advantage of them.... you meant men.
It's a perversion. She deserves her sentence. But she's not who we're afraid of.

Everyone's a stranger till you meet them. He knew the teacher from school: she wasn't a stranger, thought that's not to say she isn't strange.

I'm having a hard time working up an outrage about this, and an equally hard time repressing my envy.
I'm sure the vast majority of men are having similarly hard times.
But I'm curious about women's attitude if the situation were reversed. What would their reaction be to hearing that a male teacher had seduced a 13 year old girl?
As a man, I would would find this much more reprehensible.
Am I being chauvenistic, or is treating these two cases the same another case of PC?

Individuals in position of authority (male OR female) should not use that authority for sexual advantage. Plain and simple.
But I have another question: How were these two found out? And if she was a family friend, did the parents press charges or did law enforcement press the charges? There are a lot of unanswered questions here.
I happen to be aqainted with a woman my age,41. Divorced for a year now.Will only date young men,ages 19 to 21 . Bags them and gets them move in to her place.

Why would she engage in sex with an underaged boy? Simple, you answered your own question, Playboy spread, movie, book, exposure (ahem), more than 15 minutes of fame, big $$$$!

I, too, have wondered why so many of these child abusing woman are attractive blondes. My guess is that they're used to relying on their looks to get by in life and have never really matured. They don't see themselves as grownups and behave flirtatiously, even with teenagers.
My PE teachers were either bull dykes or men who enjoyed watching us shower.

i am a mother of a 13 yo boy and 11 and 17 yo girls, i would want to murder either perp with my bare hands. as bad as this one and the one in FL are, what is even more difficult for me to fathom is the one in Albany NY who had a son the same age and was doing HIS FRIENDS.
I agree if that was the case.
But my guess is that she used something other than her authority, and two, I doubt that the boy feels he was taken advantage of.
I live about 8 minutes away from the school were this happened and went to school with the judge. Part of the plea deal was that she cannot have a book, movie, etc... deal for at least 8 years. No profiteering of any kind. (I can't imgine her in the county jail by the way. Ought to be interesting with her in the bullpen.)
What's attractive about a 13 yr old boy? My wife and I seem to think she thinks she is still in junior high. That's the way she acts anyway. And junior high girls date 13 yr olds.
