Re: General Patton ...

" ... in 1916, a Mexican bandit called Francisco “Poncho” Villa was causing some problems to the U.S. and killed 16 Americans in New Mexico. President Woodrow Wilson assigned General John Joseph Pershing to go after Villa. General Pershing chose Patton to aid him on his special assignment. On his first days on this assignment, Patton took out three Villa’s followers. This was a great surprise for Pershing until Patton decided to strap two of the bodies to some fences. General’s Pershing response to this act by Patton was a very brief statement. “We have a bandit in our ranks, this Patton boy! He’s a real fighter!” Patton left everyone amazed. With this, Patton demonstrated his passion while in a fight and how tough he was."

Bush has been promoting amnesty, and encouraging increased illegal immigration by dint of having done nothing about it. The peasants in Mexico, and the terrorists are NOT so stupid as to not understand this. The most important job of a President is to protect the citizens against hostile invaders, and President Bush has actuall de facto, encouraged it. What does that make him?? It rhymes with skater!!

There is a lot of inflamed rhetoric about this. Should citizens take control of the border? We saw the Minutemen's actions reduce the number of crossings, but then never killed any one that I heard. I do not think we should be killing people, I do not think illegal aliens should be allowed in to our country except through proper channels.
If they choose to invade the U.S. and our gov't chooses not to stop them from doing so, then our elected officials are not being responsive and need to be cast out of their positions of authority. Those given a duty and authority and do not exercise it properly are traitors to our nation.
And there's the rub. Those who want to come here for better lives cannot be blamed. Who wouldn't want that? NO, It is our leaders and officials who must take the blame and be held responsible!

If you put the military on that border, incidents of violence would be met with incidence of EXTREME violence.

It would stop.

What's more, once illegal immigration is stopped, el Presidente Fox would - Huzzah! - "find" the motivation he needs to spruce up his corrupt country, so that the natives would be more inclined to stay on his side of the border.

Well, this started long before our President was in Office, and I think it's beyond control at this point.  Pandora's box has already been opened.

The hounds are out of the gate.  Closing the borders now isn't going to help much.  America is already overloaded with illegals.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

And you see how some lawmakers want to ban weapons. That's all we need.....to have guns taken away from us.

I don't have a gun, but my neighbors do.

Keep voting GOP for more (much more) of the same. The GOP doesn't care about any thing but it's fat cat elites, and the fat cat elites like cheap labor, no price that you and I have to pay is too high, just so long as the cheap labor keeps flowing over the border. The GOP doesn't care about crime, culture or swamping our schools and hospitals and other social services, the GOP doesn't care if the entire South west is over run, just as long as the fat cats keep sending those checks the GOP is happy happy happy. So keep voting GOP and watch the usa disappear to be replace by an elitest north american trading zone where there are the very rich and the very poor and not much in between. That is the GOP plan.

Garza says, "They're getting frustrated because we're out there. We're encountering them more times."

Or maybe they're getting more aggressive because success breeds confidence.

Once again, just like the WTC bombing in 1993, we're treating enemies at war against us as if they were domestic criminals.

All it would take is cracking down on the business owners who hire them to get most of them to self-deport. If they have no job, then they have no reason to be here. At least that would be the case for most of them.

Texas authorities requested compensation from the federal government in for the incarceration expenses for about 3,866,720 days of detention for illegal aliens in state and local jails and prisons. The cost of the detention amounted to $152,751,098. Under the federal State Criminal Alien Assistance Program (SCAAP), Texas received $58,941,600 in compensation, leaving $93,809,498 in uncompensated costs to be borne by Texas taxpayers. The SCAAP program began in 1994 and compensates the states and local jurisdictions only for incarceration of "undocumented,"illegal, aliens who are serving time for a felony conviction or at least two misdemeanors.SCAAP data indicate that Texas's illegal alien inmate population has increased by 28 percent from the 3,866,710 inmate days in 1999 to 4,958,995 inmate days in 2002.

"America is already overloaded with illegals."

I'm seeing quite a picture in my head: an irate citizenry out to make them walk back over the border, and the U. S. government mobilizing to stop them.

I live in Ventura, Ca. The city next to mine Oxnard, Ca. has a population of 200,000, and there must be 50,000 illegals there : )

And we are told this fiasco in the Senate over judges is a "nuclear" situation. What a joke.

I would 100% support impeachment if we are attacked again and it is found that the terrorists came here over the border.

The GOP & GWB have encouraged our invasion as a country.
