TERRI SCHIAVO DAILY MARCH 2005 PART 6- NO FOOD OR WATER IN THE 6TH-7TH DAYS - GOOD FRIDAY
various | 3-24-05

Posted on 03/25/2005 12:17:45 AM PST by STARWISE

Judge George Greer ruled that the State of Florida has no right to take custody of Terri Schiavo, which ruling came hours after an appeal by Terri's parents to re-insert the feeding tube was refused by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, another hearing was scheduled tonight before US District Judge James D. Whittemore .. the same judge who previously heard and denied the request subsequent to the 'de novo' intention of the law past last weekend by the Congress and signed by President Bush, in an effort to confirm that no stone was left unturned before Terri would endure legally sanctioned dehydration until death.

Regardless of how much truth is unveiled, it ultimately does not matter, does it? The nation and its people are sick.

Since only heresay from the death promoters was allowed in Judge Greers death chamber, we only get one side.

Not true. The mother testified that

"... her daughter made comments during the television news reports of the father's attempts to have life support removed to the effect that they should leave her (Karen Ann Quinlan) alone. Mrs. Schindler first testified that those comments were made when Terri was between 17-20 years of age, but after being shown copies of newspaper accounts agreed that she was 11 perhaps 12 years of age at the time." (Memorandum of Decision at p. 5)

Continued slander of a good and fair judge only trying to do a very, very difficult job doesn't reflect well on FR or conservatism in general.

Yes, call DCF as Pollywog suggests!

I called them and they spent 15 minutes on the phone asking me questions and taking notes on what I said.

THAT INFORMATION NEEDS TO BE PRESENTED ASAP TO THE COURT---NO, NOT THE SWAMP JUDGE-----A REAL JUDGE

Gov. Bush’s Domestic Security Task Force Investigator Allegedly Blocked in Schiavo Abuse; Will Talk Under Subpoena
By June Maxam and Ginger Berlin
© The Empire Journal

While the nation’s eyes focused on the executive office of Florida’s Governor Jeb Bush in the case of Terri Schindler-Schiavo, the primary investigator for the Tampa Bay Region Domestic Security Task Force and special agent for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) is reportedly ready to talk about the alleged cover-up in the Schiavo case if he is served with a subpoena to protect himself and his job.

Both the Governor and the state’s Department of Children and Families (DCF) are empowered statutorily and constitutionally to immediately take Florida’s most vulnerable adult into protective custody in view of the credible information that reveals an alleged obstruction of justice and coverup of criminality in this case at the highest levels of Florida government.

This morning I had an email from an acquaintance mocking me and teasing me about Terri's demise. They seem to find great pleasure in this, like they are winning and we are losing when of course it's the other way around. WE CAN'T LOSE!! We need to brace ourselves for persecution and when it comes, REJOICE! Come quickly, Lord Jesus.

Do you know what the status is on the appeal back to the 11th?

The new one? Nothing yet that I've heard.

I agree, and would only add:

Put the things that you value most in their hearts at an early age.

Teach them to think for themselves at an early age. I have taught my son from the time he was little that if something did not sound right, or seem right to go to the source. Find the truth. Do not ever just take someone's word for something, especially if it doesn't sit right. I included his school textbooks and classroom talks in that discussion as he grew older.

Teach them to be respectful in expressing their opinions, and not so much confrontational as "make the other person think". They have a right to do that.

My son respectfully protested to his fourth grade teacher in public school about the content of his world history textbook. He said, "why is it that all these religions are covered, but the only Christians mentioned in the whole book are the Coptic Christians in Egypt and its just a paragraph? That's not right."

She told me about it. She agreed with him, and she respected his opinion. She was a no-nonsense teacher and a good one. We have been blessed in the public schools. He has done this a few times since in various instances and has never had any problem.

He was the sole Libertarian vote in the Presidential election in his classroom.

I pray constantly for his teachers, every year and before every move. He has been blessed with, for the most part, great teachers, and the couple who were not were in the last couple of years and they have both been good lessons and a blessing in the long run. I review every curriculum, every textbook, and every packet that my son is presented and studies at school. I have opted him out of things I think are better taught at home. I discuss those things with him. I'm not a perfect mother, and I am sure that I am not aware of every single thing he encounters, but I am not raising a public school drone.

We need people on the school boards, quality public school teachers who are paid a decent enough wage to make it an attractive profession, and parents who are involved and care about the character of their children.

I see it as a potential failure of my generation (the 35-45 year old set).

There are many cases where medical care is FORCED onto a patient against his will. Most, of course, are done claiming the patient is mentally incompetent, whether it is a psychiatric center or eating disorder center. Other cases occur in emergency rooms and burn units.

Interesting. Mental imparement caused by depression is cause to disregard the will of the patient and treat him anyway. Mental imparement caused by brain damage is just the opposite.

Am I comparing apples and oranges here?

Even Greer now admitsthat he made a mistake on this
BECAUSE Karen Ann Quinlan survived from 1976 to 1985
(= Terri age 12 to 21) which HE DID NOT KNOW.

You have to wonder about Terri's so called privacy concerns michael is always yelling about...you know....why he does not allow Terri to go outside, does not allow her friends to visit....ever.....does not allow for anyone to have access to her (they might discover how alert she is, after all) BUT..........

But!!!!!!!!!!!

He BRINGS in a bunch of people to gap at her last night as she suffers the DEATH he has laid upon her!

UNREAL!

The STUFF of evil.

A 12 year old child's views are never legal proof of adults views.. Maybe early belief in Santa Claus can be used in court proceedings to influence judgements. I do believe the date DOES make a world of difference. That's why children don't vote in the USA til they are mature.

Good post. I agree with everything you said...except for the last sentence. The evidence from the first trial showed that Terri would rather die than live the way she's living now. If there's other evidence from later trials that says something different, I haven't seen it.

The living will is the most important thing to learn about from this case. Everyone should have one. If a person has no living will, and can't communicate their end of life choices, then it falls to the next of kin to do that communicating for them. That is the same as it has always been.
