Judge George Greer ruled that the State of Florida has no right to take custody of Terri Schiavo, which ruling came hours after an appeal by Terri's parents to re-insert the feeding tube was refused by the U.S. Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, another hearing was scheduled tonight before US District Judge James D. Whittemore .. the same judge who previously heard and denied the request subsequent to the 'de novo' intention of the law past last weekend by the Congress and signed by President Bush, in an effort to confirm that no stone was left unturned before Terri would endure legally sanctioned dehydration until death.

Do you know what the status is on the appeal back to the 11th?
I never did find out what the final vote was when the full panel convened and denied.
When it was only the 3 judges, it was 2-1.
Can anyone help me with this?

I was thinking recently since most posters on this issue I guess are women (and I can understand the ferocity of emotion trying to protect the helpless), that perhaps they think about Terri as their sister or daughter, whom they would move heaven and earth to protect. If so, those especially who are Roman Catholic, but including all of us, may see the symbolism (coincidence?) in having Mother Teresa whose mission was to bring sustenance to the poor and hope to those about to die, and young "daughter" Terri, who has evoked in so many millions of people an amazing emotional reaction to do what they can to help literally bring sustenance and hope.
Whatever people are now living through will become a living part of so many lives.
Respectfully asking you:
Is 15 years to be the determining factor?
What of the children BORN will the same level of mental and physical functioning as Terri? How about those with Spina Bifida or Down Syndrome or Cerebral Palsy? I'm SURE you wouldn't want to live like them EITHER.
Do we starve them ALL to death when they are 15, because YOU can't stand to look at them?
Oh, hey...how about those elderly? Sheesh, they fall, break their hips and who the heck would want to walk with a walker? While we're at it, let's put a limit on the age to which we can live. Do you think that 80 years is old enough?
Gosh darn it, how about our hero veterans who return from war sans limbs? I'm SURE you wouldn't want to live like THEM either.
Diabetics? Pfffft. Pain in the butt to have to inject that insulin. KILL 'em.
The blind? The deaf? Kill 'em. Maybe give them 15 years first, but kill 'em.
You'd better thank you're lucky stars that you're a 'perfect human being'.

How many good people are weeping. Weeping for our nation. Weeping for a sweet innocent life being tortured. Heavenly Father will have His vengeance. Make no mistake about it. Our God is an awesome God. And I love Him now more than ever. He has given Terri's tormenters every opportunity to repent but still they smirk and rebel. Terri is a symbol of God's precious Love and they are killing her.

The Gibbs Law FIrm should be called and asked why a subpoena hasnt been issued so that Mark Dubina will be protected----If the head of Domestic Security in Tampa appears before a judge and tells of the coverup---it should be credible and serious enough for a judge to immediately issue the injunction.

First lets get the truth. Terri had a G-tube. She was fed 3 times a day. It worked by gravity.

You are so far off the mark. No one ASKS to be disabled. It becomes a test of courage for some. Others are cowards. Character shows.
The Scripture is a nice touch but doesn't work. I want you to show me where God tells us we have the RIGHT to force a healthy woman into Heaven when He hasn't yet called her. Not one of your opinion has yet shown me that killing an innocent is allowed by God because of OUR human perceptions.
